Do you need to any setting adjustment for that light to go off like that?

Not only that, but when your actually driving the car and redline it, both gauges will actually flash red to get your attention.

I have yet to redline mine so I didn't know it did that. Now I'll have to try it!

It will only do it if your lights are on. As I recall, the temperature and oil pressure gauges will also do this if the temp is too high or the oil pressure is too low, but again, only if your lights are on.

This is why I stay away from reddish colors for My Color setting - I want it to be obvious when the "idiot light" feature flashes for me, since I am an idiot, after all.

That's pointless. You won't need a light to tell you when you've hit the limiter. Ha

You might be right. It appears to come on before the redline. Do the 5.0's have an adjustable shift light like the 500?

Nothing I've found, but I bet there's a way to. I saw a video where the digital message display showed exact rpm's too. Still trying to figure out how to do that too. Maybe we need a trackey?? Lol

My 2011 auto does this. OP, do you know about engineering mode ?

Hold reset when you start it up. When it says engineering test mode you release reset. It will do a guage test and your speedo and rpm needles will go wonky. Then you use input to cycle through until you get to the digital speedo.

Neat. Did not know that.

I do however know that your fuel gauge will light up red if your running a tad bit low.. even my 08 did that.
