2012 Mustang GT - Discounts

Have a 2012 GT with everything ordered and being delivered Mid May.

I'm look for any additional discounts that are available and usable at the time of delivery. So far I have the following:
  • $750 Private Cash discount from Ford.
  • Have a $500 Promotional Retail Bonus but it expires 5/2 . . so it's of no value to me.
I'm not military or a police assoc IUPA menmer so those discounts are not abvailable to me.

If anyone is aware of any other discounts that are good thru the third week of May, would appreciate you passing it on.

If I may ask when did you order your Mustang? Because I ordered mine the second week of March and still don't have a VIN number or really any information.

In regards to your post, When I ordered my Mustang the dealer told me that any incentives or rebates that were active at the time of order will be "locked in." He said that if the rebates were to increase I would get the higher rebate though. Basically your rebates can't get any lower since when you ordered.

If you have a Vin number a Vincent can be pulled on the unit and the rebates captured. I believe the dealer will need the Dora as well to place In the vehicle packet that's sent to ford for reimbursement. I don't suspect the rebates will change any at this point.

Do you remember what date you placed the order? I'm just trying to get an idea on how long of a wait I am going to have.

The $500 promo was continued from early Apr to May 2, and with the glut of unsold 2011 (and 2010!) Mustangs (in the west, I reckon there are hundreds still unsold), and gas at $4 a gallon, I would not be surprised to see it renewed early June, but I was told that the dealers aren't advised till the last minute...

Glut of unsold 2011s in the west?? Evidently you have not tried looking for a 2011 GT in the Phoenix area lately. If there are so many cars in the west, then they are not here. Look at the dealer inventory at the Ford website, and you can see that there are a few 2012 GTs, but not all that many. Even large dealerships might be lucky to have only one or two. If you want a certain color, forget about it. With this selection, you either wait a long time for what you want or hope that what you can find comes close enough to what you want to make due. A Lava Red GT with Lava Red seats sold in literally a day after coming to the lot. I would have gone to see it, but it was gone so quickly I could not. No, there is no glut of GTs here, and I really doubt that the rest of the country is inundated with them. Either way, if I did not choose to buy my special order when it comes in, they would be able to sell it very quickly. I have seen it once. I like looking for deals, but in this situation I would rather not go too far in search of a deal. When my dealer and I both know that they could turn around and sell it almost immediately to someone else for more if they had the chance, I am not going to play games with the price. They really do have the ability to not accept deals on cars like mine, and that is just how it is.

I did a search at San Diego dealers a couple of weeks ago. There were 5 2012 and 13 2011 Mustangs........and 41 Camaros at a nearby Chevy dealership. It seems Ford is keeping the supply down to minimum levels.

And somehow Chevy manages to sell more Camaros. That is wierd. You put more cars on the lot, therefore probably having a better choice of more cars to get right now, and you sell more. Weird. I can wait impatiently from NOVEMBER 2010 until MAY 2011 to get a car, but realistically I do not think that all that many would be willing to do so. I can really see how Ford could lose sales to this problem.

All I can refer to is my experience when I began looking seriously in March, I hooked up with Gaudin Ford's internet salesman with my "Must have", "OK", and "No way" list...

Mike sent me PDFs of window stickers nonstop for about ten days... I didn't count the number, but reckon there were likely over a hundred that met my specs... to me, that indicates a LOT of available cars within transport distance of Vegas.

According to the Gaudin Ford website, Gaudin Ford has 22 mustangs, Most of which are GTs and either white, black or silver. Earnhardt Ford in Chandler has 11, 6 of which are GTs. That is quite a lot for AZ.

I did look at some of the Vegas dealerships online, and it does seem like they have more that we do. I do not know why this is considering that Vegas is so much smaller. From what I have seen around here though, and on the forums, I think that if you have a choice like that, you are clearly the exception. If something happens to my order, maybe I should just go to Vegas to buy one. For most people, what I said earlier stands. There is a really poor selection. Even in Vegas though I only saw 3 Lava Red Gts, and none with an electronics package or Lava Red seats. Who knows if any of those three are even actually on the lots though.

All i have right now is the $750 brochure discount. The current ford incentives are due to change today (5/3) so im interested to see what they are. Im assuming they'll just continue what they have but you never know (fingers crossed). Hopefully my car will be at the dealer as it is in a lot 40 minutes away right now. Anyone know of any other discounts or have any advice for a first time car buyer (as this will be the first car i have ever bought)? Right now i have the $750 plus X-plan pricing. Thanks in advance

Looks like the Ford website has the $500 incentive extended to 5/31.

How long did it take you to get the brochures? I've ordered a few trying to get the $750 and it's been a week or two. How long was your $750 good for when you got it?

The brochure took about 2 weeks to arrive but they send you an email with the discount coupon as well. I sent for one saying i was purchasing in 30 days and didnt get one but i did get one for saying 1-3 months.

Just took delivery of mine 12 GT last week. Ended up with pricing at invoice, minus $1000 in incentives (500 military, and 500 promotional cash). All in all, I'm happy with the deal, close to $4k below sticker isn't too bad for such an amazing car.

Have your wife or gf, someone who lives in the house, give it a shot. My wife and I did a bunch of brochure requests, she got 5 coupons. I got zero. I even tried a month earlier and for nothing.

I ordered last week (2012 Kona GT Vert) and was told very little production in May (5.0L's being diverted to F-series). My estimate now is 1st week June build for July delivery. Boo. Same experience, tho, very low Mustang inventory here (Atlanta) pulling into Summer. Seems odd / sad.
