2012 mustang GT AC cap question

Hi! Okay, so long story short I finally have working ac!!! After 8 complete rebuilds of the evaporators, compressors, lines, everything. It is finally working! BUT!!!!!! They forgot to add the ac fill port cap, (the one by the oil fill port.

i know that the cap is the primary seal, and the shrader valve is the secondary seal, so it is very important. So today I went to autozone and purchased the correct parts. But now here is my question.

Two of the caps, are similar and both fit THIS fill port, I currently have the one that has the larger middle hole installed. But am worried I should maybe have the other one. So.

pictured below (or above) are the parts I purchased. You can see the one cap, has a little internal hole area, but the cap I have installed has a larger diameter. Which one is the correct one??

This cap here is the one with the smaller diameter middle area, the one I have on, is larger diameter.

This is the cap with the larger diameter middle hole area

so. Do I currently have the correct cap installed? Or should it be the other one?

please only reply if you know for certain!

thank you!

The First 2 Links Show The Original Correct Cap and The Later Replacement Correct Cap So I Thought!

If You Must Use The Autozone Caps You Can Turn on Air And Put Soapy Water on Fitting To Check For Leakage.

The Ford Cap after All your Issues Would Be Cheap Piece of Mind I Would Think!

Yup! I just ordered the correct ford part!

your right. I want peace of mind, so I ordered it!

—edit— do you think that ford made a change to the later correct replacement cap, to make it better?

Usually it It Either an Upgrade or Simply a Supplier Issue. They May Have Got a New Company to Manufacture it! The New One Does Look a Bit More stout. I Did Ford Parts For 30+ Years! It's Still a Learning Experience Though!

Sometimes Some Friendly Feedback Helps To Make A Decision You Were Already Halfway There! Good Choice Now You Will Not Wonder!
