2012 GT SVT PP Wheels front popping sound

I just recently picked up a set of take off SVT PP wheels. I love the looks of the wheels but when backing up I get a pop sound when hard over. It doesn't happen every time. I don't see that the rim or tire is rubbing on anything. They do still have the Good Years on them and it was below 40 out when I put them on and took them for a ride.

Has anybody had issues like this?

The front tires for those are 265/40/19

did you have the 18" or 19" wheels on your car from factory before putting these on?

I had the 19 Premium wheels. I have come across one forum board post that says it might be the tires skipping due to the cold.

When you say "hard over", I assuming you mean backing up with the wheels turned all the way left or right?

If so, this is most likely the strut mounts or controls arms popping when forced into odd angles. Both my 2011 and 2012 Mustangs have done this, and every time its been more prevalent when I mounted up wider summer rubber instead of the narrower all-seasons.

Correct turn all the way left or right it pops just not all the time. So with larger tires this is normal? Is there something I can do to fix it besides change the tire out?

My 2012 with same wheels and tires doesn't make that noise.

Gt500 strut mounts. They are heavier duty for a reason.

I have GT500 strut mounts with SVT PP wheels and don't have that problem.

I say bring it in at your Ford dealership.

You can't use the GT500 strut mounts with the stock struts right? This sucks because I can't really drop the front of the car I will never make it up my drive way lol.
