x-plan is not for ford employees.. you're thinking of a-plan

almost anyone can get an xplan PIN, and there are several dealers who will sell at $100-$500 over invoice (which is basically the same as xplan) to any customer

To address part of your concern, before buying/signing, have them wash/detail, then slowly walk around the car (with 2 sets of eyes preferably) and look high and low for any scratches or blemishes. Do it in and out of the sunlight. Then, do basically the same with the interior. Take your time - they should understand. Chances are, if you find a blemish, their detailer can wash/shine it off right in front of you. You'll be surprised at the showroom look thereafter. (And remember, people may have sat in it - but in a few days after purchase, you'll get the same result).

If it has been test-driven a lot (yet cleans up to showroom fresh), perhaps the dealer will throw in an extra free service (or an accessory or two).
