I don't go to race track but I'm guessing based upon my vehicle having standard 2.73 gears, bama 91 performance tune, stock tires, automatic, I would run 13.7 to 13.9 1/4 mile

American Musscle was at Cecil County drag strip and some driver did a 13.7 run with the identical 11 v6 stang set up as mine. Everything bone stock with added 91 performance tune. Factory tires and same 2.73 gears. 13.7. While not breaking any records that's quite respectful considering the car costs around 23k and 400 for the bama sct tuner. The 2008 Gt new sold for around 29 k base. For 6 grand more I hope one could beat that time of 13.7. I would expect a Gt that costs considerably more than the v6 to destroy the v6 by several seconds. Not run a 13.3 and say you smoked it. I hope ones stock 2008 Gt is running mid 12 for that price. The new 5.0's are running mid 12's 1/4 mile for same price as the 2008 back then.

 

Respectfully, how does suspension help a car go faster on the 1/4 mile straight run. Tires I understand

 

If everything was about just speed we would all be driving around in 600whp cubes... there is more to a car than how fast it can go.
Umm HELLO every new car cost money lol back then back then back then back then, I bought my car brand new with 14 miles on it for 26k fully loaded in may of 2008. what's all this extra money you're talking about?

Not on the 1/4 mile it isn't. Its all about speed on the 1/4. Then you got a great deal. Many paid 29 k or more for a 2008 GT. Please don't tell me that people were not paying 29 k for there Gt back in 2008. For three grand more your Gt should beat the 11 v6. I wouldn't expect anything less.

 

For someone who doesn't race you sure are concerned with speed.

 

I don't race on on track but I do like acceleration, not concerned with top speed but like 0-60 speed. Passing on highway kind of speed. Just cause one doesn't race track doesn't mean they don't like to drive spirited.

 

it helps you hook the tires and it also aids in Weight transfer.
