2011 Shelby GT350

There has been strong rumors that Shelby will be at NAIAS with an announcement with a new vehicle that is in conjunction with Ford. The rumor is the GT350 will finally be revealed. That is the speculation as someone who was interviewing Shelby last year saw a car under a cover at the SAI factory in Vegas. And once it was known (I believe it is now) that Shelby American will be at the auto show, there is something brewing, from what I gather.

I hope this rumor is true because I'm really looking forward to this one! I wonder how much and how many they will build. I know my Ford dealer still has a new '08 KR in the showroom.
The GT350, especially the '65 -'66 have always been my favorites. If this new GT350 is a great tribute to the original, I will definitely be considering one. Unfortunately, I'll have to clear out the garage a bit to do it.

I'd prefer a GT350 with the Ecoboost 3.5. It would make for a much more interesting car than just an over priced GT with some bolt ons and body kit. The 5.0 begs for a Boss 302 model which would be the same thing really with a cooler paint job and a shaker hood. What would be the point of a GT350 based on the 5.0???

I was hoping for a EB V6 as well, partly because I was hoping for a true homage to the original GT-350, with emphasis on lighter weight and better handling over power. IMO, a real modern GT-350 would be done with an EB 3.5, lightweight (Composite?) hood/roof panels, stripped out the back seat, generally kept light and nimble.
