Kind of a shame that the Cal Special is only available on the GT Premium. I'd love to spec a 6MT GT Premium with Cal Special and HIDs, but I can't afford it. I'm not saying it's overpriced, just too much for me at the moment, especially trying to find a job in South Carolina's wonderful economy.

I will be thankful if something comes through soon so I can start saving up for a 2011...Even if it's "just" a base GT 6MT with 3.73 rear end.

Sure people can say I paid $xxxxx for a Mustang GT in 19XX. Yeah, you paid that much for a 225hp V8, not for 412hp w/ 6 speed tranny, SYNC, glass roof etc.

If anyone can name a better car for the same price then go ahead, I can't. Especially when you can get a 305hp V6 for $22K
I'm not so sure everyone demands 400+ HP. Desired? Yes. Demands? No. And there is no denying the car you will get for 35-45K. There's also no denying that less and less 'regular' people, like myself, will be able to afford a Mustang as it creeps higher and higher. I'm a dual income no kids (DINK for short) household and I still have a hard time justifying the 2010 payment.

Times are tough and money is money. It's suicide to overstretch and buy too much when you cannot afford it.

People lose houses (and spouses) because they have to have the shiney, new toy on the market. There will be

plenty of shiney, new toys in the future to gawk over.

A BIG THANKS to Jeff for all he's doing. I compared my spec sheet pricing, 2010 vs 2011, assuming apples to

apples on standard equipment and options, and figure an increase of just over $1600. I don't think that is so bad

for what I'll be getting PLUS a new model year. If you factor in losing a couple thousand in incentives and

rebates, then I need to just quietly slip away.

The problem is American incomes aren't keeping up with the price of these cars. Any rise in personal income has come from the increase of Government jobs at high salaries that are unsustainable long term. This doesn't just apply to the Mustang but all cars. Look at the new Fiesta. You put a couple options on it and it's more then a Focus.

Do you mean Mustang? or Mustang GT? Because $22K is the base price for one heck of a car.

And for the most part people were demanding the 400hp. When the stang had 315hp for the '10 that's all everyone complained about...

What is the 203A rapid spec on the V6 Premium? Is it new? I don't recall noticing this with the 2010.

While some consider the track pack included on the car which cost $1530 in 2010 the 2011 is still lacking the 3.73:1 axle ratio and the 19 in. premuim tires. Both costing $1390 if you want these options on a 2011. So all in all I would say we are $140 ahead.

Boy have these Mustangs gone up in price over the past few years. In 2008 I almost bought a GT/CS which retailed for $31,710. It had the the IUP, HID's, 3.55:1 axle, sirius radio, active anti theft, GT appearance package in Dark Candy Apple Red.

Fast forward to 2011 and a GT/CS in Candy Apple Red with comparable options being the security package, 3.55:1 axle, HID's runs $37,880. So $6,000 in 3 years. ****!

I hear you Jared, and I agree.

But I look at it this way, that $23K GT package is still around, except it has a V6 now and starts at $22K.

Yep, I expected much less than a $1600 price increase.

In 2008 the base price of a Mustang GT premium was $27,020 with $745 delivery. Now in 2011 it is $32,845 plus $850 delivery. $33,695-$27,765= $5,930

Okay, fast and fun what happened to the affordable part.

Inflation, prices of materials, features etc.

Sucks, but such is life.

I hope a bunch of people purchase Black Mustang GT premium's with the Brembo Package so when I finally purchase a low mileage 2011 GT in 2013 I will get a bad *** ride for $25,000 or less!!

So what exactly does the "Brembo Package" include?

Also, if I am reading the guide correct the 3.73's are a factory option with the GT 6 speed manual....correct?

Seems like the 2011 I'd like is close to 40k. Decisions, Decisions!
