2011 Mustang GT questions

The throttle response in my 2008 GT was so terrible that it required a tune. When the dealers were having fire sales on the 2010 GT's, I took a couple out to test drive. Going back to that absolutely horrible response was just mind-blowing.
Now with my 2011, I still don't have a tune, and am in no rush to get one. Hopefully that opens your mind to how improved it is vs. the 05-10's. There is a slight lag, very slight - I'd stress, it's not an inconvenience like in my 08.
Pre-Brenspeed Tune, with my 08, I could literally floor the gas pedal and quickly release it, and the revs would just barely creep above idle. It was that bad. With the 11, almost instantly, any small amount of pressure on the pedal will see a difference in RPM.

I thought the same thing, until I tuned it. The difference is big. I didn't think there was any lag before the tune, now I realize there might have been, although very minor.

The biggest gripe I have with my 07 throttle right now is the dead-space: about 1/8" of the initial travel isn't registered with the computer, there's no throttle application. So what ends up happening is I either give it too much gas (VROOOOOOOOOOOOM in front of the security officer at a checkpoint) or not enough gas (stalling out in front of the security officer at a checkpoint).

I came directly from a 2007 GT which was tuned until I took everything off to get ready for trade-in. My 2011 has no dead space and responds quickly to the throttle. I suspect the throttle rate is damped to avoid the car leaping every time you hit a bump but you will likely not know it until you get a tune and compare before and after. When I first drove it I had a revelation. If all electronic throttles were like this their would be no complaining.

The throttle in my SS/TC feels like a cable throttle, no complaints. I'll have to test drive a 2011 GT or wait when Ford decides to put direct fuel injection in the Coyote.
