I got my mustang in June of last year only had it about 10 months second started scratching in December and it quit working in January at first it would just grind or pop out then it started where it will fell like it’s in gear but it just grinds when I let off the clutch Is it the gear that’s bad or just the synchro and would it be easy for me to rebuild the trans myself or just buy another one my warranty refused to cover it because the car didn’t have cats on it when I got it

 

Have you tried double clutching? As in first - clutch in - neutral - clutch out - clutch in - second- clutch out.

If that works it's likely the syncro that went bad. Have you checked the level of fluid? I'd do a flush with new fluid and see if it helps. It's cheap option before you break into the gearbox.
