2011 GT's possibly delayed?

Got this email today from my dealer:

Nick,
This may mean nothing but I thought I'd pass it on. I was talking to my Saleen rep this morning. Mostly about a 2010 order I have coming. But he mentioned that they are awaiting their 2011 Mustangs and the GT's are held up with a "calibration" issue at Ford. He also couldn't expand on what that meant. May or may not mean anything but I told you I'd pass on whatever I hear on new Mustangs.

Oh wonderfull! Just what we need!

I'm not sure what a "calibration issue" would be either?

I believe a Calibration issue has to do with The Programming of the PCM. Could be emissions, Fuel economy Etc.

Well considering they are going with a completely new ECU and fuel/spark/cam strategy this year, it would surprise me if they didn't come across some issues during the EPA certification process.

Wel he hasn't tried to offer em one yet - so I don't know. although he does have a 2010 Rousch 427r that is very tempting.

Yep IMO that is enough to delay a new production car to be built. I'm sure the last thing Ford wants is a recall, so they'll do whatever it takes, no matter how long it takes. Let's hope they resolve that bug fast enough so people can get their cars on time before winter. Well for some of us anyway's.

6.2L Raptors are being held up as well and rescheduled to later dates. Some of them as late as May when they were originally scheduled for March. No one knows why, but its a new motor too.

I kind of expect my 2011 GT to be delivered sometime between May 1, 2010 and March 1, 2011. I'm hoping that will get narrowed down a bit at some point. heh.

Hope its not that long. My lease will be up and I'll be forced to cancel my order and get something else - gotta have a car.
