2011 GT500 right hand drive conversion...

Came across the following on Ebay. Okay so obviously this might appeal to those wanting a 11' GT500 in the UK, but I have a 99' Mustang GT back in England (where I'm orginally from) and it really doesn't bug me that it's left hand drive over there. Even if it's converted to right hand drive, what are these guys smoking with the starting bid? "This vehicle is NOT for sale in the U.S." It might as well be listed as in the U.S because even if someone were to buy it and then ship it to the UK (for example) you will pay up the **** for VAT and import duties on top of that ridiculous price since it's a brand new car.

Pretty darn stupid ad I have to agree. You know many ads on ebay are really only there for advertising I bet that's the case there. I wouldn't bid on a car to be converted I want to see the conversion done. And If I had to contract the conversion I'd want to see some of their work and have a contract where I only pay if they are done on time and it is satisfactory. Plus all of the things you pointed out.

Yeaaah, I think I'd just buy one and have it converted myself, though honestly the only reason I'd ever convert a car to RHD would be if I lived in Australia where you are legally obligated to make the car RHD or it's illegal to drive unless it was made well before I was born ().

Hahahahahahahahahaha

$115k is about £72k

Plus £2k shipping (£74k)

Plus Import Duty at 10% = £7400 (£81,400)

Plus 17.5% VAT = (£14,245)

Total £95,645 or $153,156

Certainly not aimed at the British market then!

As you pointed out, Lawrence, LHD is no issue in the UK. To me, it adds to the experience

Hahaha $150k was going to be my guess too Paul, I was hoping you'd chime in.
