2011 gt500 convert to autotranny

It is absolutely possible but it would probably cost in the $5K-$5.5K range.
Is that worth it to you?
Of course once you have done the conversion you could sell the leftover 6 speed parts and get a big chunk of the money back.

Any good Mustang tuner specialty shop should be able to do it.
Now, my estimates on those costs would be if you were doing most of the work yourself, would most likely cost more for a shop to do it all.
And it would probably make a GT500 worth less to most people.

is there any complex ECU work or electronics?
it would be worth less to MOST..but there would be that small select group who would pay more for it i think...not much more..but a few bucks more...
anyways..resales is not my concern..i want to ENJOY

Not difficult at all.
I have a guy that builds the OD trannys(4R75W) for all our high HP cars. There are a couple tranny controllers on the market that work fine for this application...........even have paddle shift!. Much above stock HP on the 2011 Shelby, you may want to go with a fully manual automatic.
Programming would be a breeze and prolly the only other custom items would be a drive shaft for sure and maybe a tranny mount.

Even the 2011 GT still has the same bolt pattern.
The strategy in the Shelby computer doesn't allow for auto tranny tuning.

It will handle different than the Shelby. With the new block of the SHelby, it handles better than the 2010. And naturally there are things you can do with the HP difference.
