2011 GT, Sync is dead
2011 GT, Sync is dead
So I am out cruising around on a beautiful sunny Seattle day and sync stops working. I stopped to grab lunch and upon returning to my car and turning on the stereo, Sync won't work. I cycle through every setting I can and can get the word Sync to display for all of about two seconds and then it switches to broadcast FM. I have powered down the stereo, my iPod, the entire car, and nothing seems to work. The iPod is a current generation nano if that helps.
My car is two weeks old with 600 miles on it. The dealer is an hour away and I don't really want to miss half a day of work trying to take care of this. Naturally the Sync manual doesn't have a section on troubleshooting so I have no way of determining how to re-boot the system.
Any ideas?

You might have to. I upgraded from the Iphone 3 to the 4, and I had to turn the phone off and restart it to get the cell service to work. I didn't even think to do that since I always leave my phone on!

I upgraded by i-phone from OS 4.0 to 4.01 and it killed the USB port. I had to pull the fuse to get everything to work again properly. Seems like SYNC doesnlt like i-phone OS upgrades.
I'm running OS 4.01 on my Iphone 4 and it didn't have any effect on the USB. But I did that before I got the car.

Go figure, a Microsoft product not liking an Apple product. Conspiracy theorists may think this is on purpose.
I've experienced similar issues, but it usually starts working properly after a minute or two. Once it seemed to fix it when, instead of cycling through the inputs with the button (which wasn't working), I instead used Sync voice command and told it "USB".
