2011 Build and Price is up
That appears to be correct, you cannot order 18" wheels on a V6 unless you get the pony or MCA package.
It also appears that the only way to get fog lights, HID's, or security package on a V6 is to order the Pony or MCA package. (I might have some of that mixed up, but that's the way I remember it from playing with the build and price tool)
I'm pretty sure the "Track Pack" is "free" for 2011 -- there is no Track Pack; or in other words all (or most) of the Track Pack goodies from 2010 are standard on the 2011 GT (except what about the strut tower brace?)

They have priced themselves into G37 and 328i territory!!! Part of it is that the only way to get the performance options is to also pay the tariff on the premium package. It needs to all be separated out. So one can get a track pack without leather seats. I don't like paying a lot for show with no go.

The 2011's Track Pack is broken up. Some of it is standard (like stiffer sway bars), some of it is optioned out seperately (like the 3.73 rear end), and others is a new package (ESC tuning, 19" wheels, strut brace). You're essentially spending $2000 for the 3.73 axle and Brembo package for a Track Pack evolved 5.0 GT.
How did you go about getting such a quote? Did you just build and price and click on the option to get an internet price (so that a dealer could contact you)? I'm trying to price out a V6 and am hoping for a good quote.
Thats exactly what I did. When the dealers contacted me I let them know that I was looking for invoice price (which is invoice+holdback). Surprisingly both dealers that contacted me agreed to it. I went to see one of them to double check and sure enough, he was telling the truth.

Interesting, I have an invoice from a dealer that show's the invoice for the V6 plus rapid spec 101a and auto trans as 23,597.6, which is not much less then the MSRP at 24,285. That's why I don't understand how you knocked off 4,000 bucks. Did the invoice price come from the base invoice without the dealer charging you for the mods? I just don't get how it can drop so much...my build's base invoice is around 21,000 (if you don't charge for rapid spec 101a or auto trans), so if they used that it would take some money off but I don't see how the dealer wouldn't lose money then.
The reason it knocks off more for me is because I have ordered more options. The more options you order at invoice, the more money you save over msrp(you also spend more too). See?
The dealer will still make money though because you are taking the car off the lot as soon as it arrives. They won't have to pay interest on it
this is from ford's website; not the B&P listed in this thread:
