Holy Scnikey's batman, a new 2011 GT500 optioned the way I want it is 57k. That is crazy money. I couldn't believe you had to pay extra for illuminated door sills.

The light up door sills are $200. They were free before.

Light up door sills are part of Premium trim. Otherwise for those base models, it's a $200 option.

Try building a 2010. I shows the door sills as $200, even when you pick the Premium package. I do believe that is in error, and just has never been fixed.

Oh God, I added the lighted door sills and the 401A rapid spec to what I wanted (nav, Brembos, 3.72 rear gears, HIDs, security package), and the price is at $40,500. Ouch.

The saddle leather looks better, though... for some reason, though, it won't let me choose charcoal black leather...

Yeah, I think there are a lot of goofs on this thing right now. Hopefully they will fix it soon or they will have a lot of unhappy people banging on their door.

They will probably never fix the problems with their web app because you can't actually place an order through the web app. Ultimately, you have to go through a dealer who will correct any problems with your online build.

"The available Shaker 1000 audio system also includes an in-dash single-disc CD/MP3 player"

Weird, the Shaker 1000 in the 2010 is a 6 disc multi... weight savings I spose? granted I don't use my CD player all that much as the ipod replaces the need, but for those that have plenty of CD's that could get strenuous...

Also my car priced in 2011 form came out to a healthy $38,245.
$1,705 more. Which considering isn't all too bad I spose...

The CS car cover is kinda cool... has the side stripes, front pony and rear emblem superimposed on it.

Neat.

I hope the CD never goes away or is replaced with other SUPERIOR hard media. SACD and DVD-A unfortunately did not catch on. MP3's are crap if you are into any sort of audio fidelity. ipods = crap. How people demand HDTV but settle for total garbage sound via MP3's on crummy ipods baffles me. Sure you can use flaac but most devices won't play it.

Why are we wanting to go BACKWARDS in audio quality just for form factor? Oh wow my ipod is so cute! It's pink! I don't care what it sounds like, as long as I can steal music on the Internet and have my player married to a horrible itunes interface!!!!

If you can notice the difference between lossless and 192kbps you must have the hearing of a super hero.

Perhaps in a car. I'd bet you a grand you'd hear it loud and clear on my system at home. I notice an immediate difference even with franhofer or LAMe codec @ 320Kbps. 192 is pitiful and results in drastic high frequency tone loss.

Try listening to a Blu-ray track sometime with a 4Mbps DTS-HD soundtrack compared to the ancient 640Kbps Dolby Digital standard. MASSIVE difference.

I think people have become trained to their $30 computer speakers and cheap car stereos. High Fidelity sure is dying. I use Paradigm speakers and an Arcam pre/pro into monoblocks. I am really passionate about audio and MP3 is flat out awful.

Good article:

http://www.stereophile.com/features/308mp3cd/#

Summed up:

The reason is simple: Although they are universally described in the mainstream press as being of "CD quality," MP3s and their lossy-compressed ilk do not offer sufficient audio quality for serious music listening
Ford should have left the 6 disc in! What's next after MP3, 8-track?

My ideal build comes to about $38k. That said, I'm more than willing to give up the leather (which I hate anyway, but I'm willing to get it because they don't have a dark tan / brown cloth) and Shaker 1000 to get it within my budget. I'd rather 412hp and install my own stereo than get a 2010 with the works. Function over form on this one.

That said, my wife is somehow behind this purchase and claims she wants to make sure I get everything I want, so maybe I'll be able to pull off the whole deal. Time will tell. For now, I daydream until we're moved into the new house at the end of the month.

Come May, it's a whole new ball game!!
