2011 or 2012 GT?

I placed an order for a 2012 GT but I'm wondering if it's really worth doing that or should I instead pickup a Job 2 2011. Is there anything I'm really going to be missing out on? I'm not getting the NAV so app link isn't a big deal and I could car less about having a garage door opener built in.

ITs really up to you as the cars are very much alike . Now If you can find a car optioned the way you want you could be driving it by valentines day though i am sure the 12's will be more than worth the wait

Well I'm looking at it from a pricing standpoint as well. I can get $1500 in incentives on the 2011 now and I highly doubt the 2012 will have that right away.

thats the main reason I got a 2011 (other than the fact I wanted sterling grey)...the price incentives is a big deal, I got another 6500 off my 2011 because of them...theres basically no changes...so if you can get an 11' cheaper and don't want lava red...I don't see why you would get a 12'

Love the SHO and the Fiesta was nice but I ended up selling it to my father for him to drive to work.

Sounds like you dont mind either way...I say save some money and get the 2011! You'll still own a 2011 in 2011, lol.

Unless you want lava red get a 2011 you will get a way better price! Mine was originally 43,000 with tax and I ended up getting it for 34,000 with tax so with the extra 9000 I saved and will be putting back into the car it will be soooooo much better and nicer than any 2012 gt!! :-)

Really, $9,000 off?
The best I have seen around here has been about $4,500 to $5,000 tops.
So...any advice?

Only thing you're missing is the reverse sensing system, adjustable EPAS, and the lighted visors/Homelink. If you don't want/need that, get the '11.

Pretty much, there are minimal changes. Lava Red as a color, lit vanity mirrors, the app link in SYNC which may or may not find its way into the 2011s, the multiple Electric Power Assist Steering settings, and a couple minor interior tweaks with the stone interior (got some pieces switched for charcoal ones I think, and you can get it with the glass roof now), and then the universal garage door openers in premiums. You can also get a security package with a reverse sensing version instead of HIDs.

Nothing is really drastic. It is technically better, but the question is if it's a few thousand dollars better, which I think most would say it's not. :/

If anything there is a deal maker for you though I'd say go for it. In the end it is not what's valuable on the open market but what's valuable to you.

As for pricing I wouldn't know exactly. All I can say is that I got a good 3500 or so off the sticker on my 2011 in June. If you shop around you can probably get a 2012 at dealer invoice, so take note of that when you consider pricing.

The adjustable EPAS would be the only thing I'd be interested in. I don't need reverse sensing on a Mustang, it's not a boat like my SHO.

Just about every dealer in the Baltimore area will sell it at invoice. I actually have a 2012 on order but really think the 2011 with the bigger discount is the way to go.

I'm with you bpmurr...I have a 2012 on order, but think I am going to the dealership tonight to grab a Silver 2011 GT/CS...Glass roof, HID's, Comfort Pkg, for 34K Not only do I have to WAIT for at least two months for the '12, I will pay more for a regular GT premium, with no options other than the 18"polished aluminum wheels...

Well I live in Canada and it was call ford family pricing!! Some of the trucks were 10 grand off and the stang was 8500 off then I told the dealer I was gonna buy one at another dealer cheaper and with more options he lowered it another 1500!! I don't think the family pricing is still on here but when the 2012 start coming in there will be huge discounts on the 2011 again so I'd recommend waiting!!!

Depends on what you want. Try searching 2011 inventory.

I know you have yours already, I'm quoting you because you're in Canada and you're recommending waiting. In Canada this might not be a wise move. Employee pricing has been over a long time; you save only an extra $2G ($3G if you have a Costco membership) over a '12 incentive right now.

A quick inventory search within a 100mile radius my area gives you tons of Shelbys at $60,000 a pop, but only about 18 GTs and 6 V6s; not really a good selection that there are over 25 dealers in that radius. The closest Kona Blue available is about 60 miles away. So what I'm saying is that if you're in Canada and you're interested in an '11, you better get cracking,
