2010's Will Be Produced Very Early 09!
It is Looking Like the 09 Mustang will Be a Short Run Ending Early on January 5, 09. So I will Assume the 10's Will Pick up Shortly After 09's Finish. This Info Was Gleened From my Usual Parts Catalog Searching.
Enjoy!

Job 1 in December when the '09 run doesn't end until Jan? Kinda think that sounds wrong.
considering tooling changes on the line, end of Feb at the latest for the '10? so 2009 1/2 ??

Didn't someone say it would be New York, I don't have a list of the auto shows and their dates but after New York, isn't the next big American city Los Angeles and thats in November? I would be very happy to see the new Mustang in March!!!! *excited*
Edit: Plus the New York auto show is international so it would give Ford the opportunity to show off...and show off big.

I'm sure you did hear someone say New York. As well as Detroit. And Chicago. And LA. And [Insert City Here].

There are still several "gateways" for the 2010 to go through, but right now it looks like the first 2010 preproduction cars will roll off in January. I expect a late January launch with cars on lots or at least order banks opened by April 17.
Fusion has an abbreviated MY2009 too!

DETROIT — Ford Motor Co.'s trio of mid-sized cars will have an abbreviated 2009 model year.
With reskinned versions just around the corner, the 2009 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan and Lincoln MKZ will be in production for about six months beginning in June.
The 2010 models will go into production "very late this year" and go on sale in early 2009, Ford Americas President Mark Fields said.
The updated sedans were once expected to go on sale this fall as 2009 models. Although the on-sale date has slipped to next year, Ford executives still count the trio as big launches for 2008. The 2010 Fusion and Milan will get hybrid versions for the first time.
The Fusion, Milan and Zephyr, the predecessor to the MKZ, went on sale in the fall of 2005 as 2006 models. U.S. sales for the trio were 221,159 in 2007, up 4.6 percent from 2006. The sedans are assembled at Ford's plant in Hermosillo, Mexico.

The point I was getting at was the fact that the New York International Auto Show seems to be the last INTERNATIONAL show in a major US city until November at Los Angeles....so it will mostlikely show up then if production starts in late '08 as November seems to late to show off. Plus it would kill the hype(if u can call it that anymore) of the Camaro. A completely unshown car popping out of nowhere, ready for production would put the same camaro we've seen for the last 4 years out of mind. The only thing extra would be the engine choices, but woopdydoo, its probably going to be an engine thats in one of the other GM cars...atleast the affordable of the two supposed v8 engine( probably gonna be the G8 motor)
I'm really hoping it will appear in March because I need to know SOON if I should start saving for the '10 (possibly gt350 i hope) or if I can go ahead and slap on my supercharger and hold onto what I have for good. Oh how the plans must be finalized!

Bottom Line Is FORD is Counting on NEW Models to Stimulate Sales Across The Board. So The Sooner They Come Out the Better for Sales in Theory. BTMO!
