2010 v6 is a huge step down from a GT, what happened?

The old 4.0 is a real slug unless serious mods, as in forced induction, are in your future.

I may be Trading a toyota that i have for a 2010 for now.If I can work a deal on the 2010 I can still move up on a NEW GT in the future I Still have a 5.0 GT Conv.that runs great. So why not have a HT and a Conv. By the way my killer 94 Z-28 is for sale also, just had to add that.

You always hear about how slow the 4.0 is. It's certainly not as fast as the GT obviously, but I think we need to have some historical perspective that is longer than the last 4 or 5 years on this subject.

The current 4.0 V6 is faster than a 69 Boss 429, faster than a Bandit Edition 6.6 liter Trans Am, faster than the venerable 65 Mustang 289 Hi Po, and way faster than every Mustang II ever made.

It is as fast as the legendary 87 Mustang GT, and as fast as the 87 IROC Z28.

I think we're in pretty good company because I can remember when most of these cars were brand new. lol

PS, it's also much faster than a stock 1994 Mustang V6 which had the staggeringly impressive times of 9.9 and 17.3. lol

You can wake it up some with the standard mods, CAI, Tune, and a switch to a true dual exhaust.

Well, what's your price range that you're working with?
what are some of the options you would like the car to have?

That's still the msrp on it. So there's plenty of room for negotiation. Ask them to come back with a price for you. Under 20 would be a pretty good deal I'd think?

Edit is this still available: http://www.drivefordtoday.com/vehicl...5168|225383484
punch in your zip code... offers 1000 bonus cash in your area.

I found my daughters car Kona Blue, Auto, base V6 with alarm for $17.900 back in April. I am sure you can find what you are loooking for for the price you want. Don't give up on it.

Not sure about all the cars you compared the 4.0 liter V6 2010 Mustang too.
But can assure you it''s not faster than the 225 hp 5.0 liter 1987 Mustang GT

Oh read carefully now, I didn't say it was faster, I said "as fast". Technically the 87 is a bit faster at 6.4 and 14.8 while the 4.0 V6 is about 6.8 and 15.3. I know on the drag track that's a noticeable difference but on the street where most of these cars live its very close. But no the 4.0 is not faster than the 87 GT, but it's close enough that I wouldn't be calling it a slug. That's all I"m saying. Also to be fair the 4.0 is only faster than the Boss 429 in the 0 to 60 time. The Boss was 7.1 in the 0 to 60 time but once that big block really got up a head of steam it took off. the 1/4 mile was 13.6. Still that puts the 4.0 in some pretty impressive company. If we were talking numbers like 9.9 and 17.3 like the mid 90's 3.8 V6 than I would say ok it's a slug. But at 6.8 and 15.3, it's pretty good.
