Yes, but without the booming aftermarket for the Mustang, where would we buy all our "blank canvas" mods?

Here's hoping the 2010 looks little to nothing like the Giugiaro.

I don't see the "notched" door glass that appeared in one of the test mules. I'm thinking this is just another Photoshopped guesstimate of the '10 .

Remember this is a base model rendering, not a GT. V-6's have a tendency to look kinda drab before you add any option appearance packages. This car is quite close to the 2004 concept car(of the 2005), although a little more aggressive just like Ford said it would be. This is very close to what we'll get. Don't worry, it'll grow on you.

They put in some of the details like the headlights, but other stuff we've seen in spyshots is not there and the gt500 like hood isn't visible on the test mules.

Remember the artists' renderings of the 2005 from magazines? They weren't very accurate and this photoshop is probably the same.

I'm sure it'll look better when you see the real deal and not some blender photoshop of previous models and spy shots.

6.2 L? I would like see a 5.0 with 400Hp, Ford needs make a engine more eficient, and I expect that the ABS/traction control will be a standar on the V6, and better brakes and modern suspension ...

Ford we live in the year 2008, not 1998

Need IRS

The 2010 looks fine, but not that much different than '05-'09. The current Mustang looks perfect to me, so I wish they had spent their money on designing a really good independent rear suspension instead of spending it on this mild restyle.

And I do hope that at some point they will design a Mustang with the shape of the Giugiaro, something that's different from today's style but still obviously a Mustang.

And thank goodness for that, for that joke of a rendering looks more like an Eclipse than a Mustang

Yeah, that's pretty bad too. I guess we're just a picky bunch...

It's nice, but I think it's overstyled. If they do make a Giugiaro, I think they should slap a big "M" in the grill and call it a Cougar.

if you guys and gals look in the issue of C&D that the picture was taken from, look on p.36 at the nissan maxima and it looks very similar to that 2005 concept posted previously.
also, i dont hold what C&D or MotorTrend to stone seeing that every time they have a write-up on the mustang or for that matter, anything Ford, they seem to bash and tear down what they have done, and make the toyota's, nissan's and other "foreign" cars look like they roll off of the GOLD line. sorry guys i haven't seen a car that lasts forever, no matter who makes it. just my $.02

Yea, they're obviously favor the import. Also check who the big advertisers are any given month and you'll see that what they review, is also being advertised. Coincidence? I think not.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I think the current S197 styling is just about PERFECT. I think it will be very hard to improve upon this design. They could make the front end more aerodynamic, but then it would lose much of it's retro appeal.

I like the look. I'm stopping all mods on my S197 and save enough money to buy a 2010 model. 2 years more!!!!

You're not the only one. While I don't think the S197 is perfect, it's not far from it (give it hips, make it a true '67-'68-style fastback, slap in a 5.0, 6spd manual, and perhaps IRS and I would be happy as a clam). Anyway, aesthetically speaking, I thought the Mustang stopped looking good after the '70 model year. When the S197 came out, I completely fell in love with the way it looked again. That's the way a Mustang should look, I thought. I really fear that Ford is going to screw up a good thing with this refresh. I'm not opposed to tweaks and adjustments here and there, but I don't want to see a huge change from the current look.

A Mustang should look like a Mustang, not a spaceship.
