2010 Mustang Order Guide

315 HP may be much lower than what everyone was hoping for, but I don't see it as a problem, as long as the curb weight is low and the aftermarket can step their game up...

I wasn't offended. I know you were talking in terms of a much bigger HP boost than what the Bullitt did receive. I think most Bullitt owners were hoping for a bit more power.

I don't see the 2010 having any real performance gains over the 05-09's. The Bullitt's got 3.73's, performance brake pads, upgraded suspension, and more. Ford NEEDED to put more power into this model years and not wait until 2011.

those challengers and camaro's still dont beat a gt-500 i would be too sad over it.. also the challenger is a boat... it's been beat by s197's with less HP than 425
Disappointing- I had hoped HP would be higher.
No interest in 2010 at all!
It's gonna be a 1 1/2 years before we see the 2011, 1 1/2 years until we get a real HP boost- but who knows, things may change and we might not see 400hp.
Well I'm gonna SC my 08 Bullitt so I can run with the Camaro's and Challengers that will be beating the crap out of Mustang GT's for the next year and a half.[/quote
I am going the SC route myself and I did not mean any disprespect to you or any other Bullitt owners by my earlier post. Sorry if it was taken that way. I was only making a comparison.

I on the other hand thank Ford for not putting too much HP on the engine and making insurance prices ridiculously high. I'll take that less HP and less insurance and slap on a SC!!!
Let the other pay more in insurance!!! Believe me... they are watching the new muscle car wars and rejoicing!!!

Insurance premiums aren't that high- I called about a GT500 and it wasn't much more than a GT.
And I'd be careful about slapping in a SC and not letting your insurance company know about it- if you have an accident you might suddenly find that they will deny your claim and cancel your insurance.

I must say congrads to all of you scoring new 09' GTs for thousands below invoice, it doesn't look like you will have buyers remorse like some did back in 04'. This power output is pathetic, whats the point of even upgrading the motor for such a weak tune? Think about it Ford had 5 years to plan this and all we get is 15HP?
Call it a hunch, but I have a feeling that 10' Mustang selling numbers are going to be far below expectations. I seriously doubt this car will command the demand that the 05' model did. This supposed 5.0 can't come soon enough, the 1500mi 07' GT500 for sale down the street from me looks that much more tempting....
I wonder if the upgrades to the 10' GT500 are going to be this weak?
From 97' to 98' we got a 10HP gain from..... guess what these cars performed exactly the same.
In 99' we got a significant boost of 35HP or even 45HP if you compare it to 96-97.
In 05' we got another big boost of 40HP. Why is Ford getting cheap now? With more competition they have more reason than ever to further push the envelope!

The upgrades are generally pleasing ,as is the styling, but 315 hp,no six speed autos or manuals sucks ! 350+ horses and available 6 speed transmissions would have had me signing on the dotted line. Truly disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! BUT not surprised.

Really, no one should be surprised, up until recently everyone expected the bullit treatment for the car, nothing more. YES, we all hoped for more, but how many people that are dissapointed with the engine were actually going to get a 2010? Not many that frequent these forums I would presume.
Especially with the 5.0 around the corner (hopefully, we haven't heard much about that recently), personally, I more want to see the looks and other options (prices) for the car, so when I go to trade in later (2011/12) I know what to expect and want.

In the event of an accident, it automatically craps your pants for you.

Peoples'.....get ahold of yourselfs. You asked for more HP and you got it. Sorry the Mustang GT doesn't put out 900HP for everyone. Is it really the "End all Be All" if a Camero is .3 seconds faster?? Is it REALLY that big of deal??? The Mustang is an all around unbelievably bad *** car. There's more to a car than just "being faster than a Camero". I'm surprised at how much you're all ******* the 2010 Mustang. The truth is, it's gonna be better than 05-09 and you all love your 05-09. So what's so wrong with the 2010?
Why was the Camero & Firebird discontinued if horsepower was the only thing that mattered? If you're truely that unsatisfied, than go buy the Camero. Either that or pick up the Shelby.

Lets be honest the spy shots have pretty much told us what this car looks like. I guess we differ on opinion as far as the extent of the refresh. My take is that it is attractive but not all that different from the 05-09 cars. It has the same basic profile with most of the major change coming to the rear of the car. The new rear seems to be just as, if not more controversial as the 05' model (based on the reaction of many on these forums) The only major selling point for me would be that I love the new interior, the rest is nothing to write home about.
I don't think the average consumer is really going to be able to tell the difference between the 09' and the 10' models.... The small bump in power will probably persuade many potential 10' buyers to pick up a leftover 09' cheap.

Why can't you get the 3.73 package with the Glassback roof option or with the Shaker 1000? How is any of these things related to the rear axle ratio?

Wow, some people here simply amaze me. We have known for a while that the same 4.6 was going to be used in the 2010's. How much HP did people really think could be squeezed out of it N/A and still be reliable enough to be massed produced???

Is it me, or is IUP no longer an option, now you have to order a premium to get the aluminum accents.
That sucks, as I would rather get the bare minimum, but that is the only option that is a must have for me, and save $3000.
