To much.. its a 10 so no 5.0.. For 27K you can more than likely find an 11 or newer for that cost. Also why are you against the 2013 V6's they have the similar HP to the 4.6? Just curious. My dealer has a 2013 Red Pony edition for the same price as that 10, in fact I think he has it cheaper. Shop around more if you want my opinion.

That's way too much money for a 2010. I got my loaded 2012 about 3 months ago with similar mileage as a new demo for just a couple grand more than they're asking. I wouldn't pay more than 24k range for that one, and like the others said, a 2011+ V6 would be a better bet. The performance is almost identical to a 2010 and back GT with the V6 performance package, and the gas mileage is way better.

Used Mustangs are just stupid expensive, no way a 10 GT automatic is worth $28K even with only 6600 miles.

You'd be so much better off with a new one.

I bet you could find a new 12 GT premium for that price or better.

The new V6 may have about as much power but it's no V8 either.

And to the OP $27k is waaaaay too much for a 2010 imo. If u look around a lot of dealerships have some very nice deals on the 2012's as they clear inventory.

I'm not sure on how good the 4.6 V8 is, but I think the new V6 has more HP. Might embarrass you.

Maybe the prices have gone up lately, but I payed much less for my used 2011 V6. Got it for 19K with only 2000 miles on it. has the performance package, leather sets, and a great set of wheels the original buyer had put on. Since it was bought and quickly traded in, I also got the certified pre-owned drivetrain warrantee on top of the factory warantee.
Sales guy said the wife was unhappy with the husbands purchase due to them having two young children, one of which was in a car seat still; they ended up buying a Ford Explorer.

The 3.7 is a great engine but it will still get eaten up by a 4.6 stock for stock. Not to mention there are so many more aftermarket options for the 4.6 to widen that gap by miles...

dealer trade in for that car is $21,280, & i'm surprised it's still that high, retail should be around $24k, so like everyone said, $ is too high.. my '13 GT was $29,574 brand new, but premiums are much more.

btw, had a '10 and the 3.7 is not like it, 4.6 has tons more torque

Not disputing the 4.6 had more torque or there are more add-on's but was using the fact he can get a New 2013 for that price and they are just as fun. He stated he really wants a Mustang.

I have been in the Mustang community for a while now.. So We all know.

* More after market Parts
* Two more cyl
Everything else the owners of these engines say because the 3.7L is now in their playing field. I thought about this before I bought my car. But lets face it even with more torque they are old technology at this point. 27G for a car that is already 3 years old is silly V8 or not!! If he is set on a GT get an 11+

I don't think so. I think it's close enough that you could say it's a drivers race. The advantage to the 4.6 is off the line, but from about 30+ MPH the 3.7 is actually faster.



And this was a manual vs a manual. Throw in that old slushy 5 speed auto into the GT and you've lost that off-the-line advantage.

I smoked 3 2011 3.7 cars with my tuned 2007 GT and they were driven by good drivers.

They are all great. I think the price is too high though.

I wouldn't call it a V8 vs V6 issue, because it's really not.

It's a 3,590 pound 315hp car with a 5 speed against a 3,450 pound 305hp car with a 6 speed.

The slightly higher horsepower car will get the jump off the line. The lighter car with more gears will accelerate faster in the mid-range of speed. The higher horsepower car will have the highest top speed.


They could both be V8s, V6s, or i4s and it really wouldn't make a difference.

If simple drag racing is really important to you then the low end grunt of the V8 will just about always be a little better. If city street drivability is really important to you then the lighter, 6 speed equipped V6 will be a little better. Which is "best" is a matter of personal opinion and what matters most to you.




Personally, I would be far more worried about the last-gen automatic transmission in the 2010 than the engine. It's the same left over transmission from the late 90s, and is significantly slower than the manuals of the same year. It's only been the 2011+ models where the auto is a serious performance competitor with the manual.

Regardless of how close you think it is the 4.6 GT is still faster. And whoever made that video is horrible, way too much music to be able to hear anything useful.

I'm not trying to talk down the V6 as it's nice to see the Mustang get a capable entry level engine. If you just want a Mustang to drive and aren't interested in modifying it I think the V6 is a great choice that you can have some fun with.

However; like I said, it's not a V8. No matter how close the performance numbers may be, the driving experience is still quite different. If you've driven a V8 and that is what you want you may have a hard time settling for the V6.

Let's be honest, when we are talking this much money we should really get what will make us happy. Whether it's a fully loaded V6 for $38k or a base GT for $32k in the end to each their own.

They are all Mustangs.. Lets put the Mustang against the Chevy and Mopar not each other.. YEEECH. BTW if it was not for the mass number of V6's sold vs GT's sold you would all be driving Probe's. Both models have there place and are both equal in the quality to be called a Mustang. It comes down to only one thing. Features vs Price. What is more important to your wallet the HP/Torque or other features.

Loaded V6 vs stripped GT. Name your poison! For me is was a 10K difference to get all the features I wanted in a GT.. Not to mention my pick was for a Daily Driver. If it was a Weekend warrior and the price made no difference I would get the GT.. But then again if price was no object the the Boss, no wait GT350, or GT500, or wait the Shelby 1000 or the Shelby Super Snake 1100. Get my drift people all are Mustangs and all a jump in $$$$ So for the GT purist out there you still are slow compared to some of your Mustang siblings. Lets keep it real to the original OP. Still comes down to it $27K for a 2010 is highway robbery.

Reallisitcally that is around $10,000 overpriced ... OIf you really want it offer $18,000 .. if he says no walk away.
