I figure we'll have a pretty clear shot of the interior (easier to catch a camo'ed car with the interior bare than the whole car) and some more accurate sketches by mid September. We may get another super-leak like the infamous white car shots, but hard to bank on that. An early press pic leak wouldn't happen until fairly close to the show, say mid-to-late September at the earliest.

As far as I know that is correct.

An ecoboost I4 was presented as an option, better than current V6 power equivalent and excellent fuel economy.

Also mention of sequential tail lights.

I figured they would have shown the car first at a Mustang event not just a regular autoshow. Then again I still don't get the feeling this car is going to be a gotta have for current owners. At least until they have a 5.0L engine to offer. Which of course we most likely will be able to put into our current 05-09 Stangs.

a turbo 4 would be a fine replacement to a V6.

I own a mazda Cx7 which has a 2.3 4cyl with direct injection and turbo. tuned down from the mazda speed3 and 6 to 244hp and it moves that near 4000lbs vehicle extremely well. like 15.9 in the 1/4.

What kind of gas mileage are you getting with the Cx7?

My wife drives it most of the time and i'm sure i would get better mileage then her. city we average around 19-20. on a our last long trip we got 27 hwy.

also i have the 08, the 08 doesn't require premium like the 07 due to the addition of addaptive knock like the bullitt has. So i put 87 in the tank most of the time.

a turbo 4 in a Mustang that gets V6 and better performance with 32 - 34 mpg plus should be a winner especially in today's environment.

In a 3300-3400 lb Mustang it should be even better. An engine like that as the base engine in Mustang would be great.

I was a bit off on the cx7 weight, i looked it up, on the fwd model like i own it only weighs 3710lbs, that seems frickin lght for the size vehicle. 244hp and 258lbs of torque through a 6-speed auto. and 15.9 1/4 mile.

If the base stang got that engine, weighed in at 3300-3400lbs with 6-speed auto and stick, tuned engine to 260hp with 275lbs of torque, it would def be a good performer like low 14's and prob get low 20mpg city and near 30 hwy.

The thing that drives me nuts is that the high cafe now has to be met by the stupid new epa rating system. I have never gotten worse with my cars then the old system.

my cx7 for example is rated. 17/23 yet i get like almost 20 city and 27 hwy.

Now its even harder to make cafe then it should have been

You might find it actually gets better economy burning Premium.

It doesn't have the same system as the Bullitt.

As miniumum, Mazda recomends 87 Octane regular, which is the mid grade. I wouldn't push it and burn 85.

Recommended fuel Premium (91 - 93 Octane) Minimum fuel rating Regular Unleaded (87 Octane)

I'm not saying its the exact sae as the bullitt i was just using that as an example of another car that can use mulitple octanes.

and not sure what state you are in but in IL regular gas is 87, mid is 89 and premium 93.

A 2.3L 4 cyclinder with Direct Injection and a turbo. Mazda calls it a DISI Turbo.

I have one too.

The best I've ever gotten on the hwy is 24.6. Driving like a gramma around town I can break 20 but if I drive it like I want to (like it begs to be driven) it gets 17 city, less in the winter.

This engine in particular seems incredibly sensitive to ethanol additives. cuts the MPG much more drastically than any other car I've owned.
