2010 GT500 hood/bumper on a GT???
Quick question for you guys will a GT 500 hood and front bumper fit on a GT with stock fenders?? how involved of a job would it be or does it just go right on? long story short my car got crashed into while parked when i was at work and now its in the body shop. Hopefully some of the ford guys on here can chime in for me.
Thank you all in advance

I had thought that 5 oh Brian (who works at a dealer) came up with a package of what it would take to do the conversion. Of course, you have to add paint & labor...

$8K
KC will probably have unpainted parts available for under $2K sometime soon

wtf 8k!? you're better off just buying a GT500...
I know the rear diffuser comes a wholeeeeee lot cheaper, something like $150 for the part, and you can buy it off of Ford accessories website...

Please educate me as I have not seen one up close and personal, but if you remove the cobra badge from the grill, is there an inset shaped like the cobra that would have to be covered up..? I ask because I was thinking about doing the conversion as well, and definitely did not want to be labeled a "cloner."

Michael, how is the repair coming along? Are you getting the GT500 conversion parts from KC?

The fenders and headlamps are exactly the same on all Mustangs and GT500s. The only difference is the V6s and GT500s have a bright chrome bezel around the headlamps, whereas the same piece on the the GT is plated in dark chrome, which IMO looks better. So, if you get a hood and bumper, it will bolt right on.
IMO don't bother with the interior changes, not sure what interior you have, but the GT500 interior is really in the racing stripe seats and the alcantara steering wheel. Everything else is just as nice in the Mustang GT.
The 19" wheels are very expensive due to the 5 axis machining. The 18" wheels from convertible would be much cheaper since they are just lathe machined. Or, you can get the repos from American Muscle for $165/ea. and they are available in a 10" wide, which is 1/2" wider than the 9.5" OEM wheels....

Now as for the snake Cobra emblem, look at the pony on your GT grille and see that there is an "outline" molded into the plastic that matches the shape of the horse. The GT500 grille has the same outline molded into the plastic, you can remove the snake, but the shape of it will still be there:

Hey now theres nothing wrong with cobra badges as long as you got the ***** under the hood to back those badges up Im going with the look on mine as well, just ordering all the stuff for it but I'm pushing 500+ at the wheels so I think I earned the right to wear those with honor

Not to START the flaming... cause I'm not... it's your car and you can do what you like.
But to give you an example... I have both a GT500 and a GT.
I'm just finishing swapping a GT500 motor into my GT complete with the trans cluster, suspension etc.
So mechanically my car is EXACTLY like a GT500... I'll not be putting snakes on the car though since it is NOT a GT500 nor is it a Cobra.
I also don't have a GT500 front end on the car either.

I liken fauxbra badging to a desk jockey that claims to have been awarded the Medal of Honor. It's one thing to want to do a tribute, or mimic/clone a car you like, that's cool. But badges, no. The badges are the identity. You may like George Clooney's haircut in some movie. You may go get your hair cut just like his, that's cool. But you don't change your name to George Clooney.
My $0.02

I had a blower on my GT and it was plenty fast, and I really liked the car, but I came across a deal on a GT500 motor that I couldn't pass up.
Of course now many many months later and many many dollars later I wish I would have just left well enough alone
