2010 GT track pack / 2011 comparo

this past weekend my Mother got married. my younger cousin that talked me into waiting for the 2011 GT was there with his grabber blue 2010GT. he bought his july 2009.

so as the night goes on and were talking and all night he was over the car asking me about the few options i got the he didnt (nav HID's etc)..

so at the end were all about to leave and meeting up at a bar a few miles away..

without warning i tossed him the keys and said i'll trade you to the bar.
he was

i met him at the bar about an hour later with his car (had some things to finish up)..
im glad i got the 2011.. the 2010 is NO where near it.. clutch is WAY different.. harder and is more on off like a switch.. and a few other things.. but still a very nice car..

when i finally arrived at the bar he had the look of a kid that just stole a chocolate bar from his mom.. and said " Rick, i'm trading mine in "

I reminder that I'm so glad that I waited and got a 2011. I can't recall how the components compare though, but it seems like the 2011 got a lot of the track pack from the 2010, it just has a much better engine.

gotta love the sound of the '10 though, stock for stock the '10 sounds much better then the super quiet '11.

Yes ... the 2011 Clutch pedal feels light due to the weaker return spring ... which as ridiculed above ... can lead to some issues. The TSB is actually replacing the 2011 pedals them with 2010 pedals ... which are coincidently the same as the 2011 GT500 pedals.

Very cool thing to do. My cousin gave me a 11 page article on the Coyote in January and got me hooked. He will be getting the keys tossed to him when he comes down.

While the engine upgrade is always a pleaser. I was happy to get my 2010 just over a year ago. It was fresh, new, and refined- weren't too many out. Meanwhile everyone was whaling about how hard it was to wait for an '11 GT- The '10 was worth it for me as all I had to do was walk 15 feet to my driveway and hop into the same shell. Plus the way I saw it, I have one of the most mod friendly engines to ever be created really. So upping to hp (which I've done in increments) is always there. And it's still quicker than a lot of the cars out there- depending on where you live. I mean, 60mph in a 10 is the same 60mph in an 11. It might get you there a few tenths faster but at the end of the day that's just how I viewed it.

So to each their own.

In any case I'm glad to hear you're happy with the 11!

I feel the same way. My 10 is more then enough power for me at the moment. And if I choose down the road I can always add a supercharger.

I never felt my Clutch Pedal was heavy ... however, my 2009 Jeep Wrangler definitely has a lighter clutch pedal than my Mustang. I think the pedal is longer though ... so it might just be a leverage thing.

all the 10 owners. please understand I wasnt saying the 10's arent great cars also,
when looking to purchase back in Dec.09 my cousin said wait til you see what coming for the 11's which will be here in a few months.. his was the first '10 i saw and i loved what they did with the "curved tail-lights" over the 05-09s
at that time i was looking into a '10 GT, or a '10 Camaro..

hes a great Kid and when i say kid he's 12 years younger than me.. the reason he bought the '10 was he loved my 95GT..

was a great night, was my way of thanking him..
