2010 GT section

they should make a 2010 section separate from others..the body
style is for newer 10+ body and engine parts are from 05-09.. searching for info is quite the challenge.. 2010's are in a quagmire.. or the MATRIX!!!!

Unfortunately, the 2010 is becoming the forgotten Mustang, the next Mustang II of sorts.

Don't think I would go that far.

Then the '11 and ''12s become the 85 and 86 Capri? Lol

No reason to. All body mods carry over, and there is a huge aftermarket for the 4.6...nowhere near the Mustang II

wait till the 2013 exterior mods shake it up and then just to be replaced one year later. it's a one off of sorts all the same, doesn't make it any less fun to drive and enjoy. Wouldn't call it a Mustang II... But to the OP's point it's the underpinnings of an 09 and the shell of an 11.

All the recent stangs have been awesome. Enjoy it for what it is and know that next year something better is coming. That rule will ALWAYS apply. So just enjoy what you got!

OR be stupid...like me....and sell you barely 2yr old GT and a get a new one!

I don't regret getting my '10. Proven drivetrain and 315 HP is enough to keep me happy. If I need more, it's just a supercharger away.

I honestly think I dodged a bullet with the 5.0 and M6T.

The only problem is Ford changed the tune or tweaked something so that 05-09 engine mods don't work with the 2010... =[ I learned that the hard way.

This^^ I'm not too familiar with the previous mustangs but I know when the 05's came out there were definitely no seruious problems like the ones I constantly read about with the 5.0s. I was considering purchasing a 2012 black GTCS but Am going to hold off...

This^^ I paid less for my GT than most of these kids do for a new Civic Si and I have nav, DVD, climate control, heated seats, leather, a body that turns heads, a proven platform, the list could go on.

The suspension of the 2010 is different than the 2009 in terms of the tuning. There is a distinct improvement in the rebound control in my drives comparing to the 2007 I had.

Also, the engine was definitely pumped up a bit using the '08-'09 Bullitt improvements.

Pfffttt... I maintain, Ford missed the boat in 2005 by going with a 4.6 3v instead of a 5.4 3v in all aluminum trim, 49 extra cubes would have really been nice.

Even though the Brand-X guys would snicker about having less displacement and a bit more weight (due to the differing deck height) the 3v heads with cam phasing would have silenced them in good fashion since such an engine would have been the equal or better to any LS1

By 09- I mean it's the underpinnings of the Bullitt. You can also go on about how the shell is different than the 11 with the rear diffuser, front bottom aero shield, and side mirrors. but Yea, i get it.

I had my doubts until I drove a friend's 2010 GT. I had driven it before I had my 5.0 and it was fine.

But AFTER driving my 5.0, it felt like I was driving through mud when I got on it in his 2010.

I'm sure the 2010s are fine cars but I'm super happy with my decision to spend the extra cash.

What 05-09 engine mods are you talking about that won't work on a 2010?

Certain parts are '10 specific. The Roushcharger I put on mine is a '10 specific kit and the throttle body and intake are on the right hand side and also a larger intercooler compared to the 05-09 kit. Most other companies have superchargers specifically for the '10. My car is so much fun since I added the blower and that's just on the very conservative Roush tune. Can't wait to add a smaller pulley and tune to it.

The CAI's are '10 specific as well, but pretty much every other bolt on from the 05-09's will work no problem. Some of the exhaust companies (Bassani, Borla, Magnaflow, Roush) made longer tips to accomodate for the change of the rear end, but even that isn't necessary. I bought '10 specific Borla Stingers and they stuck out more than I would have liked, the shorter length of the 05-09's would have fit better in my opinion. I now have Pype Bomb's from the 05-09 and they're perfect.
