With that said the gear ratio in the vehicles makes a huge difference. You having 3:55 gears racing a 3.7 with 2:73 gears, of course your going to be faster. Your gonna come of the line faster and get into the cars power band faster.
The 10 Gt's could get 3:55 gearing from the factory. The 11 plus 3.7's you can not. The only gearing from Ford on the 3.7's are the 2:73 and 3:31. That makes the difference. Go race a 3.7 that has 3:55 gears installed and the outcome may surprise you.

Getting back to the OP's original question . . . it's personal preference between the 2010 GT and the Mach; personally I much prefer the S197 cars and generally they are a "better" car . . . but go with whatever makes you feel better.
The 2010 GT is a good car, no slouch in the performance department, there are other options such as the later model GT's (which will cost more) and the 2011+ V6; but don't buy a V6 thinking that it has the same performance as a 2010 GT; they don't, though they are close. If you can drive all of them side by side, the decision might become clear.

I completely understand why 2010 GT owners get sore about there model. It was a weird model. Body of the 5.0 but power of the 4.6. Then 2011 hits and bam, the V6 comes out 305 HP just 10 less than the GT. Sure the GT has a bit more torque but with that new 6 speed and 7k red line over the 10 GTs 6k red line, we got ourselves a contender.
I don't blame the 10 Gt owners for being a bit sour. After all, having the mighty V8, Prince of the mustang world and then the glory stolen by the 3.7. People paying 8k more for a 10 Gt when the 3.7 gives 05-10 Gt performance with a V6 price tag. It's hard being the bastard model. Its not fair and completely understand.
If I could of picked up a new 10 Gt back in 2010 for $ 22.5, I would of jumped on that in a heartbeat. Wasn't happening back then.

Had an 04 Mach 1 it's a fun car loved the shaker hood. Traded it for my 13GT if you can find a 2011GT I would go for that one. The 5.0 is an awesome motor. If your budget is around 19k I say look for a 03 04 cobra.

Reading all these, I'm pretty much open to anything, I just want a more fun car than what I've got now with a manual transmission. V8 would be preferred, but doesn't have to be. I think between the Mach 1 and 2010 it basically comes down to interior vs engine. The Mach one has the better engine, even though it's got slight less horsepower and torque but the 2010 has a nicer interior and features. I do like the v6 as well, I've driven a 2014 v6 and they certainly are nice too. Either way m, feel i should be able to get a good deal on whatever I decide to buy
