2010 Cut-off date?

Does anyone know the last day you can order a 2010?
Now that the '11s are coming out the should have some pretty good incentives on the '10's in a couple of months..

January 6th is the last day, IIRC. 2011 Mustang ordering starts January 18th.

No problem. Worth noting, though, is that many dealers will not be able to order all the way up to that last date if they've already used up their allocation of 2010 Mustang orders for the last scheduling period. Very important to check with your dealer to be sure.

Making a half educated guess, I would have to say between 30-35k... I have no idea what the breakdowns are of number of each model/option/etc.

Last count I saw was somewhere around 55,000 for the year (through October I think) but I'm sure a fair amount of those sales include '09's.

55k sold is a horrible year for the Mustang. I did see somewhere the Camaro has been doubling Mustang sales for the last few months.

Hey Brian, the last day to order a 2010 is December 17th (or week 50), not the 6th of January. If anyone orders a car after this date, it won't get built. I have our "January Production Wholesale" printout from Ford.

This was just written today...

"Camaro gaining in muscle car battle

The new Chevrolet Camaro (right) is fast approaching its longtime rival, the Ford Mustang, as Detroit's muscle car sales leader. Through October, General Motors has sold 47,233 Camaros -- 9,236 shy of the Mustang -- but has outsold Ford for five months in a row. The battle between the two cars has been raging since the original Camaro went on sale in 1966 as a rival to the Mustang, which had launched two years earlier. The Camaro was brought back this spring after production was ended in 2002.

--Associated Press"

So apparently Mustang's total sales equates to 56,469. So figure a total sales of no more than 75,000. But realistically 63-68,000... Low- yes. But right in line with the current economy. And considering 2009 sales numbers of 60,096 and 2008's of 87,224. It's been a downward trend... As the economy betters itself and as the new and improved stable take shape obviously the sales will do nothing more but increase!

This is what happened at our dealership in Canada. We had 2 Track Paks on order, one that I have a Roush blower in stock waiting for, and we aren't getting either one! Sucks, cause now we have to find a used '10 to install the Roush blower on! Also, have a Roush grille and bumper that was to go on it once it got here!

We have several new 2010 Track Packs in stock for sale if you need one. Warranty would be good in Canada, but incentives and rebates do not transfer if purchased by a Canadian (Ford's rule, not ours). I wonder if we could dealer trade one to you and change that situation???

I appreciate it, but we were only bringing them in for stock! So by the sounds of it, we better wait and see what the '11s bring as far as new inventory goes! Sounds like the '10 may just need that blower to hang with the '11!

hey Jeff, Is it okay to place an order by 12/17 or does it have to be serialized by that date?

On a side note, looks like Mustang has outsold Camaro YTD through November 30th by about 6K cars. Since neither sells that many in one month, Mustang will remain the sales leader for the entire 2009 calendar year.

Go Ford! That gap will only widen when new motors debut...

Anyone else notice how autoblog and jalopnik haven't brought this up yet?

IMO Mustang will hold against the Camaro, Even with all those back order car their still not a head. Next year will see with the power upgrade and more v/6 option maybe a little more incentives?Go Mustang. A little better economy should help. Guys and gals with 05 to 09 love those cars it,s going to take somthing to get them to go to a 10 or11 They have that timeless body style and were and still are very popular years.

I believe it needs to be in the system and serialized by that date. If not, you won't see the car. Sorry to say.
