2010-2014 Ford Mustang S-197 Gen II Lets see your latest Pics PHOTO GALLERY
I didn't even yell at him, I just yelled on the drive home to vent some rage. Luckily, the guy was extremely cool and apologetic. I was more pissed off at the scenario than him, because **** happens, it just happened to me that day. Could have been worse, it just looks like body damage to me. Should be an easy fix.
Unfortunately, I am most worried about taking my car to a shop. There is a reason I do all my own work, oil changes, cleaning, and everything else. I don't trust anyone at all. Probably going to order one of the OBDII tracking systems so I can monitor where it goes and how fast it is when it is at the shop.
Also, downed half a bottle of scotch and showed up late to work, this week is going to be great
It was a memorial mag for Noveske's creator John Noveske after he died last year. I didn't even yell at him, I just yelled on the drive home to vent some rage. That really sucks, I'm a paintless dent repair tech and I know that's a bit far gone for that method. It's also a good thing the driver was apologetic, which is rare these days. Just try to make sure the insurance just replaces the fender, make it clear that u don't want any bondo on your car. U should have a smooth repair that way, and of course u wanna make sure that body shop does top notch work. Sorry u went thru that :-(
And I was mad, but like I said, **** happens. As long as the repair gets done properly, I don't care.
It's definitely going to need a new fender. Some metal is poking through the top part. I won't settle for anything less; it actually looks worse in person than in the pictures, the reflections kind of screw it up. And I was mad, but like I said, **** happens. Lost a whole back bumper on my new mercedes, paid by person how hit and repaired by Mercedes. Not on Car fax, no police rpt.
Small scratch on a fender, had to call police. $60 repair. ON CAR FAX
Had a $1800 repair I paid for when I hit a Community entry box, messed up the whole left side on a car. Had dealer do all the repairs. NO CAR FAX reported.
Car fax is attached to police reports that verify the type of accident when it occurs and if the air bags depolyed. Repair shops have no such hands on info and can't report in FL.
I guess that is a question that needs to be asked of the dealer/ shop making the repairs. Many of the dealers "repair" shops are NOT part of the dealers ownership.

So my only two cents, make sure the shop you take it to is very reputable... Judging from how your car looks in the pics, you are similar to me and VERY particular about your cars. Make sure they don't touch any other paint panel on your car... From experience, one time, a buddy of mine picked up his car after fixing a panel, they somehow had to do a "buff" on the surrounding panels that had nothing to do with the panel being repaired. As a result, half the car had the beloved "hazing" and "micromarring" that is evident from inexperienced buffer users. It took us over 8 hours to clean that up afterwards, not to mention thinning out his clearcoat in the process. Not good.
So be careful sir... Be particular and picky, esp with that nice a car you have.
Steve I love dodo juice!!! Perfect finish there sir!
I'm the same way, narph. I don't trust anyone (ok a select few) to have the same care and rigor when they work on my car as I do. For example, other folks who touch my cars would use dirty hands, lean over the fender with exposed buttons/belts/metal etc scratching the paint, etc... They just wouldn't care, nor do I expect them to, since it's not their car.

Once they get the panel and get it painted, there is no reason it should take longer than a day to get the car finished.
Once I get a tracking unit installed on it, I'm mainly just worried about them trying to take it for a spin or similar. Will probably setup a mykey for it(even though the shop I am more than likely to take it is a dealer shop), plus, on Saturday I completely scrubbed out the inside of all the fender wells, so I will be able to tell if anyone does a burnout or similar.
I know I am paranoid as ****, but I just feel violated. Especially on a 2 month old car. And I was planning a trip up to Dallas this month with the mustang that has to be cancelled now.
Amen. Mine stays in the garage and has only been that clean once! LOL!

I have had something happen to all of the Mustangs I have owned (except the newest one, but I am sure it's coming at some point), so I feel your pain...
If it'll help, I went through that exercise last winter and summarized it all in a lot of detail here: https://themustangsource.com/f726/my...3/#post6597553
As far as being worried about your car, take it to your dealer. Those guys see Mustangs all the time, including Bosses and Shelbys, which makes them less likely to joyride in a GT. My dealer did a great job on my car, which was far worse off than yours. Good luck!

My plan at this point was to take it to the dealer.
