2 different GT500 exhaust question
I have the same car you have, and installed borla stingers, and i can tell you there is no way the ones you show listed on ebay will fit our car. at least not without some custom stuff. The GT500's you listed first from AM look more like it

notice these also have 3 hanger points. the ones from ebay only have 2

Now when you go full throttle, its loud!!! Beautiful loud too.. I love it. Basically, its loud when you want it to be, and quiet when you want it to be.
I still havent heard touring, but i was in the same situation you were, my biggest fear with the touring was that it would be too quiet. Im 100% glad i went with the s-type. I say get the s-type, and if its too loud for you sell them and get the touring. Itll be a lot easier to sell the s-type if it comes to that

Mine is a coupe, but i wont consider the borla s-type too loud. When you doing regular driving, your aware its there, but its not in your face. In fact probably after a while youll get used to it, but i still enjoy it a lot, even after 6+ months. Never leaves you feeling like you still have stock exhaust. Thats regular driving.. I'm also in the same boat as the OP. I'm basically completely stock except for an Airaid CAI (no tune) and I'm debating between the GT500 axle backs (with a boss side exhaust)
Or the Borla S type (with boss side exhaust)
-Want it to be neighbour friendly.
-want it to be loud when I want to show off?
-minimal drone on 4+ hour monthly drive.
I know the Borla is loud when you want and quiet when you're driving civilized.
Just looking for that muscle car, deep rumble tone.
I have the single tip GT500 mufflers on my '13 3.7L from AM.
The shop charged me 80 dollars for custom cut and weld. No regrets, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Combined with BBK shorty headers and FRPP xpipe, they sound great!
I also have full intake work.
here are some videos and sound clips:

Not practical for our engine but **** they look good!
A friend of mine has magnaflow competition series quads with an off road mid pipe. The thing is stupid loud, has a nice idle rumble but gets raspy at high RPMs which I am trying to avoid. The type of mid pipe you choose makes a difference in the sound of whatever muffler you get.
Borla are pricey but have you seen the price of quads?? wow plus another $250 for that:

Oh decisions, decisions, decisions
That's just my personal opinion on ton and volume. Everyone has a different idea of what exhaust sounds the best. You should listen to as many video clips as possible before picking yours!

Below is a great link comparing several popular exhaust brands.
These guys went above and beyond to make the comparison fair.
Nothing I hate more when trying to decide on an exhaust than having listen to a Borla S-type on a 2012 GT with O/R pipe, and a GT500 axle back on a 2013 V6. Different cameras used. Wind noise. Different volumes.
But these guys set up the same camera in the same location in a warehouse. Same car.
They also have a chart comparing the decibels of each exhaust as well as their opinions.
This is how those tests should be done!!
Looks like I'll take the GT500 according to this.
