Mine gets the change oil message about 7,500-8,000 miles into an oil change.

I have a 99 F-150 4x4 with 251,000 on it....I had the oil changed every 6000 to 8,000 miles on it. I have owned the Truck since 2001 when I bought it with 19,000 on it. I still have it. My Pony is now at 5100 miles and reading 51% oil life....so I am figuring about 9000 will be oil change.
But what I would like to know.....all Synthetic when I do change.....what is best for her to use????

What brand of oil, you will get a myriad of answers, each of them stating that brand xxx is best. Run any brand synthetic you want, and as I stated earlier in one if my posts, it's not so important what brand you use, but more so that you DO change within the required intervals. I personally use Amsoil 5w-20, and have used it on all my previous toy cars.

When you say "10K - or- a year" Does that monitor litterally know when a year is up?
Mine was built in Jan `13, Delivered to the dealer in March `13, Purchased in early Aug `13 w/221 miles and now in December Its up to 3600.
If it isnt set to go off automatically at a year, Is that year up for me in January, March, or Aug ?
The Intelligent Oil Life Monitor takes in consideration mileage and time, and must be reset after each oil change, lajntx. Therefore, it learns as the time, driving, and mileage progress.

Not necessarily as per my info above, Moustang.

You cannot go wrong with Amsoil oil and filters. I will be switching over after my hydrocracked not-technically 100% supply of Royal Purple is consumed. Check the Greasy Spoon section over on SVT if you want to check the oil analysis results they have posted for GT/Boss/Shelby Mustangs.

Amen on Amsoil. It's the only thing I use, for both oil and filter.
