18 x 9.5 Rims, What tire size?

Update: The Continental 275/45 ZR 18 Extreme Contact DW tires do rub a little up front on a 2011 V6. Could not go full lock on the steering without a minor rub somewhere, not sure where just heard a rub somewhere. This is with the Steeda Q1C 18 x 9.5 rims. Installed a Roush steering stop kit and the rub is gone. This size tire/rim look great on the Sixer

A 255/45R18 provides the optimal 27" OD specified by Ford and will produce nice crisp handling since the 255/45R18 on a 18 x 9.5 is the upper rim width range specified for that tire.

Not for a V6 car that came with base tires, as automatic cars have 28" tall tires and manual cars come with 27.7" tall tires.

V6 ratios are the same across the board, 2.73 or 3.31 on some, no matter which tires, even on the premium cars with the shorter 18" tires.
But yes, the tall narrow tires on base cars contribute to the fuel economy, especially on the auto with it's 215/65/17 michelin low rolling resistance tires.
And, GT's with optional 19" premium wheels and GT/CS have 245/45/19 tires that are 27.6" tall.
