17" or 18" Rims?

Looking to change the base 17" rims on our 2011 V6. The 17" are fine but wanting to go wider. Would consider 18" though. Any benefit or drawback between the 17" or 18"?
Thanks

The only real drawback I would see would be weight. May not be much or could even be lighter depending on which ones you choose. Tire prices for 17's tend to be higher but wider 18's may be equal or a little cheaper.

But the appearance difference would be excellent!

I'd go 18's. That's what I have on my 2012. Mine's a staggered setup. Not sure if your looking for that or how much your looking to spend.

Probably not staggered, still want to rotate. Thinking chrome, possibly these: 17" $170 18" $190

Those rims aren't very good looking IMO. 18's for more tire options and more wheels selection.
Are you planning on rotating your tires?

I'm really not a fan of that wheel at all either. It looks like something you'd see on a truck. If you like it, go for it. But for that price, I think you can find a much better looking set of wheels.

I would think the weight difference between 17" and 18" wheels would be minimal, so it's whatever works for you. I'd look more at tire options, and see what's cheaper and what'll work for you.

you are also going to want to try to match the new tire size so that it has the same circumference as your old setup. this way your speedo (and odometer) won't be off.

That is a 10th Anniversay Cobra style wheel. Will be maintaining same circumference for sure. Just want something wider than the stock rims, think they are 7"

Not to say it's a bad wheel, but I'm not feelin' that one either. I'm really mostly a fan of 5 spoke or split 5 spoke wheels. If you like it, then go for either of them. I just think you could find a much better set of wheels for the price than your first choice.
