So I decided to give plasti dip a try this weekend. I ended up doing a little bit more than I thought. I think it turned out pretty good for spending $15. What do you guys think?

It's all matte black. Wheels, hood, and spoiler.

Hood and wheels look awesome. I'm getting curious about this plasti-dip stuff. Seeing a lot of great results. How sharp are the lines on the edge of the hood?

It looks like the the style-filter on the pictures is causing blues to appear in the shines of the wheels.

I was thinking of doing this exact same thing to my hood. Looks good. I was worried that it wouldn't show very well. Looks great in the pictures though!

I plasti dipped the wheels on my jeep 6 months ago and it's still holding strong after the winter and nasty salt. If done properly it'll last a while.

How many coats per wheel? I might make this my weekend project this coming weekend. Hate my stock Mitsubishi wheels.

Also, how does it deal with minor road rash. Will it permanently stick to that spot so I can't peel it off?

When I did the jeep, I cleaned the wheels really good and it took 2 good coats. But that may vary with different wheels. If you don't like it or need to fix some road rash it just peels right off.

I did a total of 4 coats on the wheels. It's a good idea to start with a light coat to establish a base. Then get progressively thicker. Be sure to avoid dripping. There are plenty of videos online that detail the process.

Doesn't it have a rubbery feel to it? I know a guy who did some wheels in white and it holds brake dust like crazy, it seems the stuff is somewhat porous.

My buddy did his TBSS wheels last year....20K miles ago and STILL look like the day he did them, first coat PAPER thin then lay them a little thicker, maybe 4-5 coats.
