Sorry if I'm late to the party, but why didn't you order your car with 3.73 to begin with?

Get the FRPP Whipple. That will boost your hp under 3800.

I'm sure you're dad is a nice guy and all... but I'll have to pass. You're just like all the other girls now.

How many miles do you have on the car?

It does get better the more miles you put on the motor, however if you get to 5000 miles and still aren't happy, then it's twin screw time baby....

Don't think CAI will void warranty. FRPP gears done by dealer are warrantied too. Aftermarket tune unfortunately will. I'm getting an auto and the first thing I will do is get 3.55's or 3.73's.

To void or deny warranty, the dealer has to prove that the modification was the cause of the malfunction.

So for a CAI, the usual denial causes has to be:
  1. inadequate filtration
  2. hydrolock
  3. MAF getting fouled from an oiled filter
  4. part ingestion (ie the CAI falls apart)
Unless one of these happen, it's hard to trace a problem back to the CAI; that said, if you DID have a problem your best bet would be to put the stock setup back before taking it to a dealer.

For a tune, however, it's a little trickier. Because you are altering the engine controls beyond the safety margins the Ford engineers set out (and yes, all cars are detuned for a safety margin), it would be a "their word against yours" scenario with the Ford engineers being the "experts" in a court of law having the upper hand. Seeing that you didn't write the tune yourself you may be hard pressed to get a tuner to go to court to go to bat for you; because in the eyes of the law the Ford engineers are the authoratative party and a few guys working out of a speed shop are not.

On my 03 the dealership tried to tell me replacing my head liner wasn't covered because somebody messed with the back windshield cause it was leaking....

They were the ones that messed with the back windshield to fix the leak they thought they could tell me a lie cause I was not the original owner of the car, but the owner gave me all the service sheets. I called them out on their lie and they gave me a story about how replacing a freaking head liner is really hard and the last time they did it someone wrecked the car in the parking lot.

Needless to say my modding on the 03 started very shortly after I realized my local dealership is a ***** and I also didn't purchase the new stang from them.

So yeah, some dealerships will say whatever they want if they think they can get away with it. Of course I could have pressed the matter and got my car serviced under warranty, but once I realized they were morons I didn't want them to touch it.

I didn't see the answer, so I'll ask the seemingly obvious question - why didn't you spend the $395 and order the car with the 3.73 gear in it? Just change your mind after you got it, or didn't realize the potential?

This is Joker... he changed his mind after he got it. He'll change it again. His screen name really should be "seasons" since he changes pretty consistently.

I didn't think I'd get addicted to driving the car. I thought the 3.31's would be "good enough" plus I wanted optimal fuel economy.

But I do so little highway cruising...
