'13 Camaro 1LE dusted by 4.46 seconds the BOSS Laguna Seca at VIR

Guys I readed that the '13 Camaro SS w/. the 1LE handling package, dusted the BOSS Laguna at VIR, by 2:58:34 seconds. That Camaro cost about $6K less, is only the SS with some handling package (that cost about 3K).
What can we do to the 5.0 Mustang to be competitive in the track against the 1LE?

Add more power to make up for the loss in corners or find a way to add IRS to the BOSS

meh, unless a comparo was done on same day, its worth a grain of salt.

Either way, competition improves the breed, and glad to see more life in the ponycar battle.

Who cares I can't remember the last time I bought a car because it was faster at the Laguna in the real world all those track times that the media tries to make seem important really just aren't

Maybe a lesson learned from this, is that a non staggered setup, will be better for a more balanced handling at the track

Pfffttt... replace those pirellis with something more aggressive.

It would be interesting to see how a Boss would do with GT500 rubber which is supposedly the same compound as what is fitted to the ZL1. If thats the case, GT or Boss lap times should improve as I beleive that is where most of the 1LE's improvement comes from.

I just replaced my rear tires (and planning to change the front one's)
To Michelin Pilot Super Sport 275/40R19 , and really is a big difference compared to the short lived Pirellis. Is like it's glued to the floor. Expensive, but it 's worths every penny.

IRS is rumored to be part of the 2015 Mustang redesign.

Yeah great tire, they are on the short list for upgrades but will require a rim change (unfortunately the PS SS doesn't come in a rear tire for my car) which isn't a bad thing, I've been looking at 20" Forgestar F14s which look to be lighter than my current 18" stockers.

So, how much do we want to plunk down that the "boys" at Ford are designing as we write here a plan to create a faster Mustang? I love it. The two are at each other, and we benefit! Muscle car wars all over again.
