18 years old a few days ago, 103,000 miles, still been dead reliable... Son bought the purple challenger this summer, talked me into ordering one too...Mustangs not going anywhere, but theres a blue mopar in the mix now too... the 09 mustangs now at 5.6 miles, clicked off a tenth or two the past year moving in/out of the garage, wifes 07 mustangs still at 34,600 she didnt drive it except to gas station once this summer...cancers back, kinda changed everything, hoping she'll be all clear end of January. blue challenger came in just a week or two before she got sick, already put 3500 miles on it just daily driving up till a few weeks ago...the 06 only made one autocross, the challenger two- for a huge car its actually quite nimble...theyre all a blast to drive, gotta say the big 6.4 with the manual trans is a absolute joy to drive...
still love the mustang, but have had a thing for these challengers ever since they came out... being last year for challenger/hemi/stick, just had to do it...

A Challenger would be my second choice behind a Mustang. I don't really like Camaros. Never have. The styling just doesn't do it for me. When it came to GM f-bodies, I always preferred the Firebird.

34K on an '07? That thing's gotta still be in mint condition!
My brother's got a '12 Challenger SRT8 -- **** NICE CAR. Lots of down low torque, great sound, and the interior is actually befitting of a modern car. That said, the factory sticker price was like $20k more than the '05-'09 mustangs.

quick/non-car update from first post: they had to cut wifes chemo short by 5 cycles as her blood counts were taking severe hits, really had us on pins and needles of 'what now?' thoughts- BUT, the did the CT/contrast scan and cancer is GONE! the spots around intestines were so tiny they wouldnt have seen if not for prior tests, the crap in her lung is shrunk/dead, sane with ovaries... know its a car site, but after learning they never find ovarian cancer until stage 3/4, gotta soapbox a bit- women should get abdominal ultrasounds as regularly as mamograms- totally safe, every doctor has one in the office now- they cant see everything, but something like a ovarian cyst might be seen well before it becomes stage 4 and collapsing a lung out of the blue...I cant help but feel disgusted they dont use the simple/safe tools to watch for such things...
back on car posts- did get to drive both the Mustang and the Challenger on Christmas eve and Christmas day- think thats the third time over the years we had rain/warm weather/clean roads over Christmas break...was nice to put a few miles on them- forgot how easy second gear lights the tires when roads are 40 degrees LOL... aaahhh
come on springtime- hopefully will get some time for some road trippin this summer- maybe take the 06/07 mustangs and the two challengers on a caravan trip- wife didnt frive the 07 except once last year, our youngest will be getting his license in a couple months- he already drives stick well even with his temps, other son has a nice little fiero thats just been sitting undercover here since he went in the Army 3 yrs ago, maybe if he gets leave we could run 5 mileage would suck but what the heck...
anyone bored, theres a bunch of pics in here of our 2014 road trip with the 2 mustangs- man I loved that trip... God willing, we'll all be healthy/wont be at war/93 octane will still be available/etc... gotta dream eh? https://www.flickr.com/photos/908224...7646337924779/

ford4v429 I absolutely enjoyed your Flicker photos, especially the photos in Winslow, AZ. We can't get enough of "Take It Easy' land.
Since you have a Challenger, perhaps a visit to Cisco Utah before the old Shell station is gone forever. The kids won't understand the original Vanishing Point but the road into Cisco is the same today as it was in the movie poster 53 years ago. The only thing missing in my photo is the helicopter chasing me. This was this past May 2023.
1971 VP poster
2023 visit. Kept it around 60 mph
Ready, get set, go!!!
Old Shell station is barely standing.
