I don't see any pink in this paint, except where the red Roush is reflected:

Brad,
I have had my 06 Tungsten GT since Aug 17, and I can now say without any doubt that under some conditions the paint reflects a purple-ish hue. This has been discussed in a variety of forums...but it is not pink..I agree. Here's a pict of my baby in full sun and the show car. CHeers,

I think the "purple" you see may be the reflection of the blue sky.

It was cloudy the day I saw one in person...in the shade.

Then again i'm around 30 or 40% color blind.

That may be true, but the "purple" effect is still noticeable under complete overcast skies. There is just something about the paint under a variety of conditions (eg the color of incident light, etc) that gives off a slight purple hue. I think it's just a bonus. The paint is certainly not a boring grey that's for sure.

Ill say it again. It has a pink hue because TUNGSTEN (W) has a pink hue. Notice how the name of the color is "tungsten", and not, titanium, or silver, or pewter.

Perhaps other Tungsten owners can verify, but when I look at mine in the bright sun, very, very closely, I swear I can see little bits of pink and blue flake.

I finally got to see a Tungsten GT in person and I would say it has more of a Lavenderish hue when the sun hits it just right. This was in bright sunlight. It looks great to me.

Anyone who does NOT see lavender in Tungsten will never see it because they do not WANT to see it! PERIOD!

I have seen a couple of Tungsten at a few dealerships and I think the tint is best described as a light plum color.

I've seen it in bright sunlight as well as overcast days.

Definitely a lavender hue to it. Put it next to a Satin Silver car and it's even more evident.

The arguments about the tungsten colour brings up the fascinating marketing of Ford cars.

I mean really, when did they announce the tungsten and vista blue colours on their site. 4, 5 months ago. I have yet to see a single Ford authorized picture of the mustang in Tungsten or vista blue!!!! The only pictures I have seen are the spy photos from a few months ago and customer cars they HAVE ALREADY DELIVERED!!!

You would think the marketing geniuses  over there at ford would have a collective brainfart at some point and realize that customers might actually want to see a decent picture of the colours before they were delivered or ordered!!!

I think this corporate BS is once again another sign of corporations treating their customers like jag-offs.

SMARTEN UP FORD AND AT LEAST HAVE 1 STINKING STUDIO SHOT OF TUNGSTEN AND VISTA BLUE IF IT ISN"T TOO MUCH WORK FOR YOU. REALLY SORRY ABOUT PUTTING YOU OUT LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you wonder why your sales are down? Maybe treating the customers who spend their hard earned money to you so you all can get paid with a little respect would help!

Needless to say my Tungsten V6 should be here by the 25th of September and I can't wait to see the colour I ordered the day I get it. What a load...

I agree that the lavender hue is from the sky, but there is not a time we don't drive when the sky isn't out. Thats the best time to drive anyway. It's something that an owner will have to grow to accept.
It's an excellent looker nonetheless

I've Seen Tungsten myself in person, There is NO PINK OR PURPLE in the paint. It is a multipigment paint, meaning that there is a varity of similar metallic colors in it. There are 2 Grey colors, a darker and lighter red color, a silvery blue, and black metallic in it. Depending on the lighting the car can look more Purple or Blue, -if more lighting or less is present, or it can appear red in indirect or uv light or at sunset. It is a beautiful metallic grey/silver color but it is not pink!
