Dan I'm thinking of making my MG look 69 Boss-ish. These ideas remind me of that. If you blackout anything you should go with black striping. Too many colors will look weird.

So did you get everything fixed or just the mirror?

(BTW: The color is off in the photochop. That "orange" stripe is acrually red.)

Would anyone have an idea of how much it would cost me to get my spoiler painted black?

You may be better off buying a black spoiler off ebay then selling your spoiler there as well. It will most likely cost you next to nothing and you will have a factory paint job on the black spoiler.

Here's a shot of mine.. I'm thinking of adding stripes soon and not sure if I'm leaving the panel on there... I love the look of the blackout better than the stock appearance.

[/b][/quote]I would call that flat, I'd call that satin black. Which is what I went with. Thought it would complement the black convertible top, and it's more of an old school nod.

Under $200. Less if you take it off yourself.

I am taking mine to the shop in week to have the hood and spoiler blacked out a'la 1969 Mach I. I think it will look cool with the shaker and rear window slats. I LOVE the white racing stripes (adrenalin), they just look SICK on the Sonic / Vista blue cars but a lot of guy's are going that route and I want to do something different.

My original quote was about $750 and I figured that was good. I had figured about $500 for the hood and $200 for the spoiler. Now that is at a VERY good Ford paint shop, after BSing with the Paint guy for about a week he had me bring it in and show him what I wanted. He has a White '05 that he painted on blue stripes and it looks NICE! Anyway, he did some recalculating of the quote and brought it down to $350 and some change, to include fixing some chips on my fornt end!!! He really wanted to do my car!

POINT: get on a first name basis with your paint guy and you might save some coin!

I’ll post some pic’s and a copy of the invoice when it gets done.
