Ok, so here's my problem. I desprately want to order the black. But everyone, and i mean everyone says black is the worst possible color that you can have for a car. But the delima is that black is hands down the most "mean" color you can get. You dont get that kind of look with any other color, red, blue, silver, etc. My question is, is black really that much of a pain?

I don't care. I ordered it, knowing how hard it'll be...but knowing when its clean, it looks awesome.

no its not that hard and yes its worth it, let me ask you this are these other people going to be owning the car, no you are, are they going to be cleaning it no you are, and if it were any other color would you really take care of it anyless, probably not I know I wouldn't black isnt harder to clean then any other color, its just that you can let other colors get dirtier before it really starts to show, but a clean car always looks much better than a dirty one and anyone can tell if a red or white one is just as dirty as black, dont let anyone fool you into otherwise, I hate seeing dirty cars no matter what color they are, and black definately looks the best, my 05 and my 98 are both black and I at most spend 5 minutes a day to keep it clean and I am always being told how immaculate and how great my car looks, asked who details your car? and you must wash it everyday? but the truth is no I just care enough to not let it get dirty, its not hard, and well worth it. go black, follow your heart its your car and you are the one not them that will have to live with it.

Get the color you want dude. My dad thinks I'm crazy about color. I wanted sonic blue so bad that I wouldn't take any other color and ended up not getting one this summer due to this. I like Vista just as much from the pics I have seen so we ended up ordering just because we couldnt' find the color I wanted in the '05. I figure you are going to be paying alot of $$ for this car, get what YOU want. -Marci

it does take a little more maintenance but when it's clean and shined, it is absolutley a head turner!

I am with everyone else - as you can see by my name I have a triple black on order (hopefully 3-4 more weeks to get it!!) and I just got a chance to test drive a 2006 GT 5-spd w/Black interior and the fanblades - just wish I had my camera to take a picture to post for all to see. Its bad hiney. Stick with the black - I have owned 5 black cars and currently own a black truck, and everything said above is 100% true. Enjoy.

I think its a good point that you aren't going to take care of a car of a different color any less than a black Mustang. I test drove a Black GT and, although this car looks great in every color offered, I can't see myself in anything other than black!

Dude, go with the black! I had a very long debate, which most on this board recall, on whether to get redfire or black, and I ended up with redfire because it was all that was available after I got hit by a drunk driver and we were short one car. I don't regret buying my redfire, but I sure do wish i could have waited to buy a black vert. If you decide to go with another color, you will probably regret it.

Black shows up the dirt better but it worth it. Nothing beats a black car with dark tint, it just has that bad hiney look. If that is what you want, go for it. No sense getting another color and then every time you past a black Mustang.

The one positive is stains are a lot less noticeable. Besides, dirt shows a lot better on black.

It depends on how much time you want to put into your car, and how perfect you want it to look. If that's the color you want, get it. Nothing looks better than a just waxed black car. I've had 2 previous black Jeeps, and will never own another black car. It's more time and effort than I'm willing to spend to keep it perfect. If you don't mind spending the time, and minor scratches, chips etc don't bother you, then you'll be fine.
I'd also say it depends on where you live. Some of the S.FL. and SOCAL guys love their black cars, but that'd be the last place I'd own one. Down here, it's too stinkin hot to be out waxing the car for me. Even now, I put a window a/c unit in my garage and wax inside w/ the air on so the paint isn't so hot.
It's up to you, good luck w/ your decision. If you've never had a black car before, then I say go for it. You can always change your mind and buy a red Shelby later :drive:

Black is not really that bad to take care of and if you enjoy washing your car as much as I do, it's no big deal!

I love the black stangs. I have a redfire gt, and I think that it also takes some work to keep really clean. But when it is clean it looks awesome, get the black.
