That ticket in my mind says you are a very responsible blown Mustang owner.. You should have shown the cop the dyno sheet, then he would have understood you have a tremendous amount of restraint.. With a slight twitch of your foot, less than 1/4 of an inch, it could have been 75MPH in a 30 easily!!
Just make sure you show the judge the dyno sheet! I bet you he will dismiss the case.. Also take a few pics of you and Carroll Shelby kicking it together.. That cop picked on the wrong Mustang owner..

Hoover is normally very understanding- I got pulled over my first time in Hoover(no ticket).
But Lorna Road is where the pigpen is.

well ... at least ur 1st ticket was better than mine..
mine was doing 160kph in a 60 kph zone... :S i was racing a camaro too ... i bet the radar had a sweet pic of me beating that camaro's a$$

Brad you could possibly get out of the ticket.
I'm not sure of the laws in your state but in California you can go the DMV and request a "speed survey."
More often than not that survey will show that the speed limit on the road you were caught on may be posted LOWER than what the survey recommends.... i.e. (survey says-- 40 mph but the posted limit is 30 mph)
In CA if ANY posted limit is ABOVE the recommended survey then that limit is void. In other words the cop can't legally give you a ticket because it is considered a "speed trap."
Now there are exceptions of course... if you were going 90 in the zone it's highly unlikely the judge will side with you because of the excessive speed. But in your case, I would definately go that route.
If you were on the highway you're basically screwed. But for this one you may be ok.

What goes around comes aound, Now that there officer will come one day to Childrens Hospital and at that moment maybe think Gee I should just gave him a warning ! we should start a I got my first ticket thread, we have to behave because they are out there more so now.

I have an international drivers license issued to me when I use to drive for a general in the Marines, and it has gotten me out of many a ticket. Most podunk cops from small town america that have pulled me over look at it dumbfoundedly not sure what to do and then send me off with a warning. It is good for life with no expiration date, impossible for the state to issign me points against my driving record, but it's a pain to carry because it's larger than my passport. It has saved me from many a ticket in the past.

Yeah, speeding tickets suck. I got my first a while ago, for 64 in a 45. It really sucks, because, it was a section of road that looks like a 55mph zone, you know, back country highway, but it was a speed zone. Plus my pickup truck's speedometer needle is bent in and sticks, as it did that night. So I was doing 64 when I thought it was about 50-55. Anyway, I got it reduced from 4 points and $180 to 2 points and $75. I wish I had one of those international liscense things, anyone know how to get one?

I got my first (and only) speeding ticket for doing 65 mph in 50 mph. $160 and 4 pts. Went to court, they reduced to 2 pts and I had to pay $40 court fee.
Good thing is they didn't spell my last name right so insurance company never found out about ticket. Since then I never drive more than 5 mph over the limit.
