Locking Lug Nuts for 2007 GT/CS

I just picked up my 2007 GT/CS Vert with 18' polished aluminum wheels. I thought it would be easy to order the locking lug nuts(exposed) from the dealer, but it's not. He currrently shows only locking lug nuts(unexposed), which are way to thin to match the other lug nuts, for around $49.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help.

I ordered the stock ones with the car and I noticed a couple of things when I went to put them on (dealership didn't have the car long enough to put them on). They were top quality McGuard lockers. They looked a little thin. When you put them on they look fine because the ends are about the same size as the lugnuts.

My wheels are too shiney, but you get the idea.

I picked up a set for $9.95 from Auto Zone. Four lugs and a key.
They fit great. $50 is a Ford Ripoff.

The Ford locking lugs are actually made by McGuard. They are a harder material than what you bought and very difficult for visegrips or the like to get a hold on. Mc Gaurds run about $25-30 a set.
It is cheaper to buy them aftermarket, of course.

I bought them with my car...and eventually got around to putting them on. However when I did one of the nuts was defective and shattered, leaving the end of the nut stuck on the stud. They had to drill out the stud, replace it, and they damaged my rim whilst doing so...so it cost them another rim too.

Anyone want to buy my replacement locking lugs? Factory sealed!

I picked up some spline lug locks with the new wheels. Just trying to make it a little more difficult for the low-lifes out there!

Am all over the place here but what can I say ....

Putting my two cents in as well - never go cheap on the little things !
Its always the weakest link in a chain that will bring you down.
