I am thinking about this for my LAST mod.

I really want a NAV system.

Now this WILL work with my Shaker 1000? I keep getting conflicting information.

Of course, this is contingent upon what my tax lady tells me...

I don't see how it can work with the Shaker 1000 system, since if you order a factory NAV system in an '07 car, it won't let you select the 1000 when processing the order - it only allows the Shaker 500.

Near as I can see, Kevin's head units are identical to the ones you can factory order in the car...and really, why would they be any different? I think the problem stems from the unit's inability to drive the trunk mounted sub.

Just one more point in case anyone cares. I can now attest that a Nav unit programmed for an 07 Mustang GT will NOT function correctly in a Shelby. The programming is different and it will not read from the data bus. My local Visteon guy is trying to help tomorrow to get the correct config file into it. I'll let you folk know how it goes.

These units are Plug and Play and Will Work With Premium , 500 And YES Shaker 1000 Units. To Order All I will Need Is Year and Radio Style. This Unit will Accept the Sirius Kit. You Can Have it All! These are Specially Programed and Not Just an 07 Replacement Nav Unit. If you Attempt to Merely Purchase an 07 Unit at your Local Dealer it may or may not work at all. FYI My Kits Come with Antenna and Nav Disc! These are not Programmed to Play DVD's Since they are Visible to Driver.

Well I was reading a post that there are now upgrade kits available for the 05 and o6 directly from ford or the actual supplier. They supposedly come preprogrammed ready to go, and supposedly can do the aux input etc. Any new word on this kevin, I heard you sold one of these kits to someone, is that true.
Please notify when available, I may not have the money yet, waiting on taxes probably, but hey it looks nice I may have to take the plunge. See ya

WEll how do we get them to play dvd's , I think most if not all of us are going to want that option too. I know visteon makes these I believe any word from them on what can be upgraded, software etc. Thanks for any info kev. I was all in I think till I saw you posted not programmed to play dvd's

Question Hold for Fixes?

KC,

I have seen some threads indicate programming problems with the nav units causing errors. For someone who is planning on getting one of these, do you recommend waiting until the programming is worked out by Ford or Pioneer? I hear dealerships charge $$$ for reprogramming these units.

TIA

I curently have two Units with some programing Issues. I believe they can be worked out. The Biggest Problem is the Inconsistent programing of the Factory Radios. There is no Set Break point between Changes. I will advise further when I get a Final Outcome. Ford does not even have the Factory 07 Units totally Dialed in. The 07 Shelbys Work Fine but the Non Shelbys are having issues. Realize the ECM in The Shelbys are Different than The Non Shelbys FYI.
