Factory HID's?
guy's/gals Ive install the 2008 HID in my 2006 mustang. I didnt worry about the new wiring harness. I just ran a relay to the battery and use the driving light lead to activate the relay. The highbeam wire is connected to the HID high beam wire and of course ground is connected. A few things to note: the factory hids had a different plug for the light but can be cut off. the non hid wiring harness cant be utilized since the low beam wire deactivate when the high beams are on. the next step Im going to try is installing a second relay on the factory high beam and connect it to the HID ballast. so the ballast will have 2 wires connected one from each relay low and high beam. If that works I will be able to utilize the factory wiring harness and remove the driving light connection.
i had contacted steeda asking them if they sell just the harness and they said no. i asked them if they were going to come out with a gt500 kit and they said no. i guess someone would have to bite the bullet and order the steeda kit and copy the harness?
I'm installing a set now for our car to have some nice lights at SEMA.
I've got the harness, the lights, and so far the driver side is working. There is power missing to the relay for the passenger HID, but I'm working on a solution that is clean / OEM. I think I know what I'm going to try tomorrow night, but I ran out of time today and figured someone had already done it... since the answer is "no" from what I've read here, I guess I'll get it done

Update - and maybe this needs to move to one of the tech forums...
I have got both headlights functioning in low beam mode, and the flash to pass also works now. The new stumbling block is keeping the low beam circuit energized when the high beam function comes into play, without reprogramming the SJB to act any different. Ideally, the low beam relay would stay energized on its own, but since it's not, I have to give it some help... my first attempt locked the headlights in high-beam mode, not what I wanted.
The goal is to do this and offer the "new" OEM harness already modified to do this, so that no matter where you find the HID's (junkyard, KC, etc.) you will be able to retrofit them to non-HID cars. Of course you can do it yourself if you're bored too, I have no problem sharing the technique, but knowing how some people like me to do the soldering and stuff I figured I can do it both ways...
I have the solution laid out, just need some time at the local electronics warehouse to get what I need to finish it. The goal is to keep it within the stock harness, so that it looks and acts OEM when done. Should have this wrapped up next weekend.

No need - while it would've been easy, I don't like it when someone copies us, so we try not to do it to anyone else. For the record I haven't bought anything other than the OEM 08 harness, and a pair of OEM take-off HID lights. Everything else from there on is just the usual tinkering I have to do to keep my sanity making stuff work that supposedly "can't be done".

well i only suggested copying because they won't sell the harness seperately, and they don't have a gt500 option, so for some guys that did the conversion, they're kinda stuck
Ok, I got it done!
I'm going to write a complete how-to, but basically 1.49 in parts from Radio Shack and the OEM harness and you're good to go
Once I get the write-up done with P.N.'s and troubleshooting guides, I think we'll start a new section on the "how-to" info on our website, I do so many of these little mods that I can share if I just had a place to put them, so that seems like the best place for them to go. I'll link over to it from here as soon as it's done and posted.
BTW - they are BRIGHT !!

Of course the high beam works
That was literally half of the battle...
Ok, you made me get off my butt...
I've had it working on my car over a month now, here's the link to the how-to article, it's at the bottom of the page for now until it gets big enough for us to devote a new page to it.

I'm interested in the Saleens or OEMs. I definetely don't like the look of aftermarket projectors, and if I'm going to have projectors, I want a "tiered" cut-off...
I have a BMW retrofit in my truck's headlights. Has anyone cracked the lights open and done this on a Mustang? I'm thinking a projector assembly would make the headlamps look like eyeballs
