Well I tried to do use the stock hardware on my 05 to do the install. The two bolts on the throttle body are a hair to big to go into the metal holes on the cover. Looking at the picture Kevin provided the updated bolt looks to be a hair thinner. I hope Kevin can confirm this when he gets a chance. Just want to make sure my cover isn’t defective.

Here are some high res pics I took of the cover since everything so far is either small or fuzzy.

DO NOT TRY IT! The Bolts would be too Short even if they fit anyway and could pull the Inserts out of the Intake. The New Studs are Stepped for a Reason. Also using Bolts that are too long could go through the other side of the intake. It's not worth it.

Be Patient!

Kevin,

You mentioned the plenum cover fits with the GT500 strut tower brace. This is the first ime I have seen the GT500 brace. It looks like Ford is not using the FRPP twin bar tower brace on the GT500. Does the FRPP twin bar brace fit with the plenum cover? If not, what is the price for the GT500 tower brace? Which brace is better for an '05 Mustang GT convertible? Thanks.

Email sent to the Big Guy.

What is the actual color of these? I am ready to pull the trigger on my JLT, but am stimed on the color selection right now. With the engine cover coming, I want it to fit as well....

We will have to wait for Someone to Try the Cover with the Other Braces out there. The Shelby Brace needs to be checked for Clearance between the bar and the bottom of the hood. As long as the Shelby does not have different underhood clearences it should fit Fine. Is $35.69 + Ups Cheap enough! BTW Ford has them on backorder at the moment. I have already ordered all that were available.

DATE 07/06/06 STILL TAKING ORDERS! Initial orders starting to ship to my customers! New Batch due in shortly! Hardware in Stock!

REFERENCE FROM POST 242 on ORDER LIST.

The Covers should be releasing soon. This is an old topic and some have emailed or posted their desire to purchase this cover. I am sure some no longer want this cover and some may have slipped through the cracks as far as being on my list. Also your C/C and Shipping Address info may have changed! At this time the covers are still dirt cheap and I believe they will come with all the hardware. I do not know at this time if it will clear strut braces. Also it is my belief they will be the dark version as shown in the last pic posted. To verify my list and add those who want to order the cover please do the following.

email to clevparts@aol.com

In the Subject Line Put ENGINE COVER ORDER
If you Posted your Desire to order your Cover in Forum please put post #
Please Submit
Name
Shipping Address
C/C Billing Address {indicate if same}
Daytime Phone Number!

I will contact you for C/C Info as or if Needed.

Thanks!
KC

Be Aware I have a Backlog of emails at the Moment and I will answer asap. You Guys are Really Keeping me Hopping!

Stand by and I will post a pic of it with the Tungsten JLT tube. Mine should be here by the middle of next week. I'm hoping it will match good.

Ditto!

I seen that new dark color that sorta looks like dirty black today at a cruise night. Meh, its ok, if its gonna be that close to black, might as well just be black. The cover was sexy tho!
Also theres a change in the way the headlights light up. Some sort of halo effect.

Kev,
Didn't you try this on your ride? How was your clearance w/ stock hood?
