I am a bit confused, what is involved in installing this cover ? It sounds pretty easy, but when I see " Intake leak and damage to intake manifold" I get concerned. With some dealerships denying warranty claims for mods it's something I am wondering about.

KC,

Is the part number 7R3Z*6A949*AA still valid. The dealer I bought mine from is now telling me they changed the part number and it's not going to be released until 7/5/06...

Relax! It is a Plastic Intake and if a person were to use too long or too short a bolt it could cause a problem. Using the Factory Hardware will eliminate that concern. Being a Dealer I always have to Overstate my concerns. A busted Intake would be a bad thing!

Your Part Number is Fine. I guess your Dealer did not punch in the Order soon enough. Ford will release as ordered in that order. As early as you placed your order it should not be a long wait. Still waiting for updated hardware numbers BTW!

Being that I ordered it back on 6/15 I hope I get it soon. At that time they thought it would be four days. I should have know better! lol I bet I know who got the first run.... j/k

I'm assuming the additional factory hardware I would need are the bolts for the throttle body mounting not the sides. Look forward to when you get the part numbers. Should have bought it from you to begin with but I thought I had a chance in picking one up early.

Now why would different dealers charge different prices? I was quoted $85 with tax, paid it in full weeks ago, but the parts guy says the computer still will not accept the order. He's being real nice about it, and says he tries daily to put the order through, but why the price discrepancy?

I'm guessing the price discrepancy is due to the fact that the parts dept. at all dealerships is on comision. So, there is a base price and then it's up to the parts person how much you pay. Like mentioned above, some Clubs recieve discounts, our SVTOA Club buys at wholesale. I was quoted $55 for the plentem cover. That's what I know.

All dealers have the option of selling their parts at whatever Price they choose. I sell as cheaply as I can to Tms Members on a consistant basis Yet maintain a fair profit. Also Different parts have different margins. A part that Costs me $20.00 and Lists for $30.00 Would have a shorter Discount than a Part That costs $20.00 and Lists for $60.00, that part would have a deeper discount. Even at $80.00 these covers are a bargain. My price as listed in my hotsheets is quite good and I always throw in a few extra Goodies to sweeten the Deal even more.

BTW, Still waiting on FORD for Proper Hardware Numbers. They are being difficult.

KC has always had fair pricing and gives you some extra goodies. I thought I was going to be able to snag one within three days back on the 15th from my local dealer. Had I know that wouldn't come true I just would have waited till KC gets the whole kit together.
