DRAM settlement? More like DAM settlement after you get a virus.

It's not spam or a virus.

This Lawsuit pertains to anyone who bought electronic devices that had DRAM chipsets. 'DRAM' stands for Dynamic Random Access Memory, which is what the RAM chips in your computer are.

According to the notice issued by the court, "the Defendants fixed the price of DRAM causing individuals and businesses to pay more for DRAM and DRAM-containing devices."

Only children put viruses in an executable. Real men code malicious ads that inject a trojan or a RAT

Ok, so let's see here...

$310 million was paid in, and $200 million will be paid out to various people. The lawyers and such got a cool $110 million. Nice. I want to be a lawyer then.

Oh, right, a little late. Ok. Out of that $200 million...

Last I checked, the nation was somewhere in the 330 million people. And not just people are covered in this. *Any* entity is covered, which means businesses.

And, get this, each computer is $1, and various amounts thereto for printers, video cards, etc, ad nauseum. I have bought, personally, about $10 worth of that stuff in the years indicated. *ME*. Not any of the various companies I've been part of or had dealings with as a computer worker bee. Me alone, I should get $10.

If *every person* had at least $1 of that stuff to claim (and how far fetched is that, even in 1998-2002 times?) The funds are woefully insufficient. And then you include the companies?

They're *counting* on people not knowing this even exists. And companies not bothering. Further, I'm SO SURE the companies have kept records from '98-'02. SO sure... right. And you MIGHT need to supply it, for while it's not required to file, it is required if they question it... so you would summarily be dismissed in that case, I'm taking it.

It's not worth the time or effort, to be honest, and yet... I feel I must submit a claim, for to do so is a waste of the money that was garnered by whomever made this stupid suit and settled for so little, and gained the lawyers so much.

This is just... tragic. Truly. Oh, it'll send the message, I suppose, but...
