Due to a Broken Back Glass one of our Members Stangs needed a Vert top for his GT. I suggested a Cloth Shelby top and after a Little pondering he decided to go for it. It costs a Bit more than the Standard Top but makes for a fine upgrade! Looking Good!

I can Supply these as Needed!

Definately sharp looking. If you are needing to replace a top anyhow, seems like a very good alternative.

Definitely cool....if youre in the market for a vert, make sure you order the cloth top option instead of vinyl...it only costs 295.00 from the factory and its well worth it. We've got one on a California Special at our dealership and it looks great!

Imo it doesn't look any better than the vinyl.I'm probably the minority though.

I'll join your minority. The few I've seen hereabout looked worse than the vinyl imho (not tight, flat black finish made the top look sorta "shapeless" )

It is not a shelby cloth top. You can order the verts with the vinyl or cloth.

I am considering doing this. There is a strap that has frayed, and the dealership is telling me they may need to get a whole new top. If this is the case, I may upgrade to the cloth top. Prices here are $2200 for the vinyl, and $2600 for the cloth. Because it is warranty, I have to go by the dealer prices.

What are the pros and cons of having a cloth top versus vinyl, anyway?

Cheers

There are quite a few threads regarding the pros and cons of each....

In terms of warranty repair: I just had my top replaced for the tear TSB, and they said that they had to use the vinyl top due to it being the original equipment, and that Ford *may* question them in an audit situation as to why the cloth top was used.

Thanks,

I live in Alberta, and we get a lot of snow, here and temps of -25 are common in winter. I don't have a garage, and I do drive it a bit in winter. I'm thinking I'll keep vinyl.

Cheers.
