When the Zephry goes for over $34K and its only a V6....I gotta wonder what makes so much better a buy than a loaded Fusion or Milan....

The interior mainly. The Zephyr features such materials as exotic Harewood on the dash and console, satin aluminum, chrome, and higher quality leather. It also has a THX certified sound system and satellite navigation (neither of which can be had on the Fusion or Milan).

You also have the Lincoln nameplate as a status symbol too. And to some people thats all that matters. I had customers about a month ago that refused to look at a 500 and only wanted a Montego even though they are identical save for some minor exterior details, thats it!

ya i was gonna say the same thing... that interior looks swanky. its funny, at my closest dealer, they've got i think 4 zephyrs and just one fusion. They had an add up for the zephyr for a while too. but then a little down the road there's a sweet billboard for the fusion.

the first link in this thread has one interior shot that i thought looked pretty sweet. That clock is classy! I love the analogue clocks in dashboards... especially cause i don't have a watch, and while the phone booths around montreal all tell the time, the cars are handy too when there ain't no phone nearby.

yeh ive lost all respect for lincoln. if they got there heads out of their hineys for one minute...they'd realize they've got so much potential. the linconln name used to be one of the finest luxury brands of its time, and now....its comprable to freakin buick! whats that about? if they decided to probuce any one of their concepts....they'd have a huge successs on their hands. ha well i just hope that when they come out with their next Continental, it has a big V8, the most exclusive interior, and on heck of a desighn......perhaps like their CONCEPT!!!!!

Interesting, Edmunds loved the Zephyr, even it if has "only" 221HP. Read the review here.
BTW, Ford has already demonstrated that the 3.0L Duratec is capable of producing much more power in the Jaguar S-type, but with a tradeoff: you have to tune it for premium fuel (just like Honda and Nissan have done to get more power from their V6s).

If you have a chance, definetely drive one of these cars and take it on the back roads, thats where they can really perform.

Main competition of Zephyr are Mercedes C-Class (215 hp), BMW 3-Series (225 hp), Audi A4 (220 hp), Jaguar X-Type (227 hp) and Cadillac CTS (210 hp). So Zephyr is not underpowered at all because only 3-Series and X-Type have more horsepower, but not that much. However, I wish Zephyr is using 3.9l from Thunderbird (280 hp).
