Okay, here's the deal. My '05 Mustang GT just cost me another $3800
I couldn't bare to drive her in the winter, so here's what I bought. A '97 Mercury Mountaineer!

I'd love to have a small-mid sized SUV as a 2nd car. I'll be using my '01 V-6 vert as a daily driver. Can anyone suggest good wet weather tires for an '01? A cool daily driver would be a hybrid Escape. Can anyone share their costs for title and license fees? I have the cash for the car and the tax, but just barely!

Yes, that's nice to have when the snow starts to fall.
I have a 05 V8 Explorer 4x4 that serves as the family car and my transportation in the snow.
It's 76 miles round trip to work, so that's a long distance to drive the Mustang in snow.

I don't have 2005 or 2006 Mustang, but I do have 2000 Mustang which pretty much sucks the same during the winter. But I recently bought Ford F-150 4x4 so I'm set for winter.

I'm driving the Durango this winter . The wife's driving the Jeep. The Mustang is staying snug in the garage except for those rare sunny dry winter days where I'll treat myself to that special winter driving treat.

I'd love to have a beater but just about anything for around $1500, which is all I'd spend, is more than likely going to need more money dumped into it soon. That's money I could be modding my Stang with.
Maybe in a couple of years I'll buy a new house and use a little $ I get from selling my current house to pay off the stang and buy a SportTrac Adrenalin.

I was going to trade my T-Bird in for my Mustang. But the dealer offered $800. KBB said a dealer should offer $2500. So I told him to keep his pocket change. So I was able to have a daily driver anyway.

I advise anyone that is thinking about a Stang to have a secondary vehicle or at least access to one.
I usually suggest it to customers who say they are going to driving their Mustang as a daily driver.
I have a 1995 Oldsmobile Ciera that I will be driving in the winter and a 2000 Ford Taurus SES for my wife to drive. I like the Taurus a lot better but my wife has only like a 10 mile round trip to work whereas I have a 80 mile trip. I much rather have her driving the Taurus. Theres less of a chance of damage to it that way. Plus the Taurus has side airbags for her.

No winters here in Miami but I kept my 96' "Exploder" as the daily driver. Totally worth it. I ride the train to work so the beater gets to go to the municipal parking and don't give a crap if it gets dinged. Better keeping it than getting raped on a trade in.

I drive my 91 GT all the time in the winter have for the last 2 winters, got to love snow tires! And the ability to DRIVE IN THE SNOW!!! I love passing these idiots out here in their SUV's creeping along at 15 while i fly bye in my stang at 50+!!!
And I have a theory for it...no one on the east coast has ever driven on gravel roads, so they have never learned the slide and compensate and slide and compensate form of driving so when the car starts to slide they freak out. I like most midwestern people grew up learning to drive on gravel so its no big deal to us if the car slides alittle we know just to steer into it alittle to correct it.

Great Fun - until you have to STOP or one of those "idiots" slides into your lane or something else unforseen happens.
